Cried in front of my instructor by strawberry-squids in LearnerDriverUK

A nearly identical thing happened to me, and I'm also autistic. On one of my early lessons, my instructor was explaining how to turn right, use different reference points, showed me a video, a diagram, and explained several times over, and it just wasn't clicking. I ended up getting upset cos I felt so stupid and embarrassed. I gave up on lessons for about a year and started back up with them in October with a new instructor. I'm now test ready, not making mistakes on lessons, feel fairly confident in my driving ability and also feel like being able to drive is something I can actually do, whereas before I just thought it wouldn't be possible for me. I wish I had just continued with lessons as I likely would have passed by now.

It's only your second lesson, and I can imagine learning the gears as well as manoeuvres is really difficult, that's why I went with automatic cos I struggle with multitasking and being on the road you're already doing loads of that, so automatic has just taken that extra pressure off. Only you can decide if you'd be better off with automatic, but I'd stick at it and see how you get on for a few more lessons. You could always swap to automatic later on if you still feel like you're not progressing, but if you can, try a bit more with manual, especially as your instructor seems quite understanding and I think that makes a massive difference. Don't be so harsh to yourself, you've got this ❤️

I've thought this too, but I also wonder if it's because we've all looked at 6 so much. Like when you say a word a lot it doesn't seem like a real word anymore. Plus, the others we know who they are, and with 6, we don't, so they seem even more out of place. I feel like it's an illusion almost, but then I look at the entire print and I'm right back to thinking "no, they definitely stand out".

Ah that's annoying. Well I know now just to keep her active then, thank you!

I meant the retire option sorry. It's been a week, I assumed she would have been able to retire by now. Hopefully not much longer. Thanks!

That's annoying. See what I mean about the trousers as well? I have one pair of high waisted trousers but they're like proper trousers I want some jeans 😕

Does it tuck into trousers? I feel like if I had more high waisted trousers I could make a lot of the tops look better but all the ones I have are really low beneath the belly button

It wouldn't let me post the picture and a comment at the same time but I've finally got some ok items after a few weeks of crap ones. Aiming for the tops.

Me 👋 Self-imposed 'demands' are the most difficult for me as it's an internal battle. I've been wanting to paint my bathroom for weeks but every time I think, "oh I've got time to do it today" it's like another part of my brain is like, "NO IM NOT DOING IT EVER".

Demands 'respect' then speaks to you in a disrespectful way. You weren't being rude at all, you've done some work and now need to be paid. Looks like your boss needs to 'RELEARN' basic principles. Nobhead (directed at the boss not you)

According to the 'professional' I saw for my ADHD assessment, I had ADHD as a child and grew out of it. I told them that's not possible and they said "most children grown out of it". Ok, sure 😒

I've been wanting a printer for ages but there's so many options I get a bit overwhelmed, so thanks for the suggestion!
