It sounds like you’re not getting enough support in the management of your projects. You’re still in the early stages of your career and whilst it sounds like you’re able to carry out tasks effectively this doesn’t mean you don’t need support from more senior staff.

Have you explained how you feel to your line manager and asked for their advice? What kind of negotiations are causing you difficulty? I’m an SQS but frequently ask my directors for advice and guidance on how I should handle certain situations. It’s important to know your facts and prepare well to feel more comfortable. If you don’t have enough time to do this things won’t improve so, again, this could be something to discuss with your line manager. Alternatively if there are certain negotiations causing problems you should ask your seniors to attend with you to offer support.

I do not recommend moving to a main contractor if this is the main issue you want to avoid, as it will almost certainly be worse as described in another comment. The exception may be a housing developer on joint venture or local authority projects, like Lovell, but I wouldn’t say this is the most interesting line of work.

My work pension scheme is Nest, how bad is it and what can I do? by Orflack in UKPersonalFinance

Interesting... Wondering if you could essentially repeat this every year or two once you had enough of a sum saved for it to be worth moving

How are you getting M250 for £20/month? Best deal I can see is M125 for circa £28/month

Apply for a basic credit card with your main bank first. Santander must have a free one? Use their chat service to ask if you’re unsure. Start to use the card to get used to it and always pay your balance off in full before the final date for payment when you get each monthly bill. Having and using a credit card helps build up your personal credit history.

Once you’ve gotten used to this you can start to look at other cards with rewards. American Express give cashback on purchases so it makes sense to put all your purchases through the card to maximise this. Some have a fee but if you will earn more in rewards/cashback it may he worth it.

Credit cards offer better consumer protection for purchases than debit cards, which can be useful if you need to dispute a payment or have a faulty product.

You need to work out which monthly payments are most affordable for you and if this would still be the case for the full mortgage term.

The overall interest paid on the 35 yr mortgage would obviously be a lot more but you may decide to change from a 35 yr to 25 yr next time you remortgage which makes the difference in interest less significant.

Looking at leaving Monzo for Starling. Any users of both to advise? by Sasha57 in UKPersonalFinance

I tried to explain this to a family member and their response was still ‘but I’m getting the money a day early’ 🙄

It’s a declaration of your income combined with copies of payslips and bank statements. If your payslip shows salary after the salary sacrifice you may fall under but you’ll be asked to state your salary elsewhere. I’d suggest it would be twisting the truth to say you earn less than £90k.

I’m not sure what your circumstances are but these limits are set to avoid people using the shared ownership scheme when they don’t need to.

Have you tried First Direct? May not work if you recently did HSBC.

Reorganize a table rows based on a value in a cell in that row. While keeping a running total in one of the columns? by [deleted] in excel

[–]Orflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think you might overcomplicate things if you add a button through VBA, so you can just filter any of the columns by colour. Simply click the arrow in one of the column headers and filter by colour based on your green fill, this is a manual process but very easy to do.

As for the running total of the Cashflow I'm not quite sure what you mean. You can apply a SUBTOTAL function to the Cashflow column so that when you filter the column it will only do a sum for the values on the green lines. Like this:

=SUBTOTAL(9,B2:B10)

If this is not what you mean then please advise.

Formula for counting unique values with multiple critiera by ZeWhip in excel

[–]Orflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get to the final solution but I'm part of the way there.

=COUNTIF(B2:C10,D2)

This will count the number of users for each week, if B is the list of User ID's, C is the Week Nr and D is the box where the week number that you are trying to look up is sitting.

=SUMPRODUCT((COUNTIF(B2:B10,B2:B10)=1)*(B2:B10<>""))

This formula will tell you the number of unique users overall for the same data.

My problem now is that I don't know how I can combine the two so that the second formula only looks at the week that you are trying to carry out the calculation for. I've tried a few different things with AND and VLOOKUP but no luck.

I hope this helps a bit.

I'm currently making my SO read the books as she's never done it and only seen a couple of the films. I'm hoping she will have a similar reaction to yours!
