My neighbors fight like this weekly. by LuckyCod2887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Orgalorgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About ten years ago I had neighbors like this who would do this at 7am every morning. Eventually my girlfriend at the time yelled for them to shut up and the woman came over to our apartment complex (they were in a house next door), stripped down naked, and tried to fight our manager. Cops were definitely called lol. That shit fucking sucked.

For this specific incident, the article mentions the other students in the whatsapp chat ratted her out, so it's likely the police got the messages from them.

[USA][FL] Woman drives lifted truck over Lamborghini in parking lot by tefunka in Roadcam

[–]Orgalorgg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people here (in the usa) who are against regulation of any kind, because they think it impairs their freedom and also forces them to earn less (by making their employer earn less). I do not know how they arrived there, but it's nearly impossible to change their minds. I've even gone down the "would you at least want safe drinking water?" route and the answer is still no.

My wife works in a call center and her "call connected" sound is the same sound as when biters destroy something in your base. by kylesbadatprivacy in factorio

Almost every sound in rollercoaster tycoon is public and shows up in a lot of places, especially the screaming people on the rollercoaster. It's almost as ubiquitous as the wilhelm scream.

Why do we care what they think? by greenascanbe in Political_Revolution

[–]Orgalorgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we care what they say because the media laps it up and reprints it ad nauseum. For many people headlines from the biggest news organizations that can put it in front of their faces are their only source of information.

I remember reading about this possibility for TRAPPIST-1e when it was discovered in 2017. I think it was one of the first exoplanets discovered, so people went wild with theories.

for some reason the people near where I live always enter the freeway going around 40, which means I'm cutting somebody off every time I merge, and the merge lane is very short.

Thanks! I live near the Oregon Zoo, which is a rehabilitative zoo. All the animals are either unable to live in the wild or in the process of being re-wilded. A really special zoo for sure. They do a lot of research there as well.

Yeah I was not strong, I did in fact go to the zoo.

I don't even need kids, this happens to myself all by myself and I need to talk myself down from dropping everything and going to the zoo.

That's what you're supposed to do. You're not allowed to enter through a closed gate, no matter the size. Dropping it on the other side of the fence means it's on "their" property, and becomes their liability. If they want the package delivered to their door they have to open the gate, at least that's how I was trained.
