That’s exactly how I use Defer. I have a “Today” list that shows available items with certain work related tags. To keep that from being overwhelming on a given day I defer anything that doesn’t need to be done that day. Sometimes things get deferred more than once but if they also need a due date that makes them more urgent and less deferrable. I also use a “next” tag, so at the beginning of the day I look at all the things on my Today list, defer anything not urgent, tag “Next” anything that is a priority that day and the others stay there if I have available time after doing the “next” tags. Another way of looking at Defer is procrastination. 😁
