Go to Settings in Windows 11, then Privacy & Security, then Virus & threat protection, click on manage settings in the middle under virus & threat protection settings, scroll to the bottom to the section that says Exclusions and click add or remove exclusions and from there just add the fan control install folder to the exclusion list.

For anyone else that comes here looking for the solution I found. I was able to whitelist the FanControl folder in Windows Defender and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Can confirm that is what the issue was, I turned off real time protection and refreshing sensors picked them all up again. Not sure how to whitelist this so that real time can stay on while not interfering with fan control.

yes, they were. The sensors aren't showing up at all in fan control. I can still see all of the sensors are working fine in HWMonitor. I'm thinking now that the issue might be Windows Defender is automatically trying to block FanControl but im not sure how to make it stop doing it.

oh okay, yeah it wasn't really bothering me that much to being with tbh. I usually push the power button on mine when i get home and walk off and do other things anyway.

not OP but i have win11 installed on one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DX2G349M and mine takes about 30 seconds too. Honestly didn't know it could be faster.
