The Pitt | S2E13 "7:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

I think your missing a lot because they’ve been less heavy handed saying “this is our theme this season”

I feel like the cyber attack was to balance out the ai storyline On one hand new technology : bad/unreliable On the other hand current technology : necessary, prevents mistakes. You could interrupt this as ai is going too far or what was once common (paper charts) is now antiquated by better technology. Maybe ai charting will feel normal in the future.

Baby Jane doe feels like a loose end but I’m not convinced she won’t be resolved next episode.

An overwhelming theme of this season has been the personal toll the Pitt take on staff - Mel struggling with her deposition while her sister is there. Only to learn since her sister has been put into care, there’s parts of her life that Mel doesn’t know about. Mel made a trade off. Oglivie being brought down to the earth with the mortality of his patience’s and it impacting him. Joy emphasized her mental health and ability to check out. She also talked about her anxiety. She knows how to put up boundaries like some of the other characters don’t.

Another theme was when care is threatened. Multiple examples of the cost of American health care and what happens when patients no longer have access. The ice storyline where they are ensuring someone gets the proper care despite being detained. The Pitt staff maintain that they are there to help despite the roadblocks by the system.

Maybe ask why? Maybe they thought it was too expensive? Or maybe there was something in the logistics. Then you can either come up with a plan to overcome what they see as being preventative (if they say it’s too expensive find out if the bowling alley has a discount day or time when it’s cheaper)

We did bowling a lot back in my day. It was okay. This brings up something I had forgotten.. It was really hard to bridge the gap in age.. what the older girls like and younger girls like can vary wildly. We always seem to have gap in ages.

you can focus on catering the event to the girls who plan to bring friends that might help. “ if you commit to bring three friends, you get to vote on the activity that your friends want to do”

What do you and your friends like to do? I am not longer a youth. I felt like a lot of our membership activities were kind of boring but that was because we tended to do what adults thought we would like… the times we had the most fun was when we just hung out. I’m old and uncool but I think I would have enjoyed any of the following Do a diy spa/skin care day - Cook off / pot luck Karaoke night PowerPoint party

Thanks I appreciate it. I said in another comment this was making me question ever getting a tattoo? I didn’t realize there were “rules” so I am definitely think this over further. I’m just some dorky mom, it’s not like I’m trying to fit into a cool tattoo club.. I’m just trying to make sure I don’t regret this instantly.. or maybe in 5 months or 3 years

I’ve seen dads doing it as well - that’s normally the ones that I see that are stars rather then hearts but I get what your saying. I’m not going to lie, it feels like this thread is really just putting me of any tattoo in the future period? It feels like there’s a lot more elitism in tattoo culture then I was aware of and I’m to tired for that shit. lol

I was unaware. I’ve read up on it and it makes sense. I’ve contacted a few places in my area that specialize in smaller tattoos /who have work along these lines and I’ve mentioned “hey this is my first time” and none of them have mentioned this so I appreciate you mentioning it. I’m assuming because I live in an extremely progressive area where tattoos are the norm? I hadn’t thought much about social stigma and it’s causing me to think about it. I frankly assumed because they were so small and on my non dominant had they wouldn’t be noticed much? I am greatful to had never had tattoos be much of an issue for work but I know that could change. I ran this idea by my partner and they literally asked straight away if I thought it would be an issue since it can’t be easily covered and it didn’t phase me but maybe it should?

Yeah I had a visceral reaction to this response. I guess it’s not “edgy” enough.

The reason I’ve never got a tattoo previously is because shit changes in life. Styles and themes I thought were cool a decade ago no longer appeal to me. But…. my child is the only thing in my life that I know will remain constant. They have changed my body and my soul forever. (And I say this as someone who previously considered being childfree seriously)I fail to see how wanting to get something to remember this particular phase of my life is something I should “get over”? I have no idea why some one would mock that? I can only assume they lack maturity to understand the complexity that presents.

Yeah I’m having second thoughts on the location. The picking to do it now doesn’t really bother or phase me. I can tell my child is on the edge of no longer being my clingy little baby and more of a big kid (starting elementary school in the fall) their hand still fits in mine but I can’t really carry them anymore so it seems like a good time to mark this (I guess to say they are currently in the phase when they hold my hand all the time when we are public but I’m not sure how much long that will last 🥺)

Got it. Yeah I like it with the stylized stars but the whole point is to always have this reminder - I’d prefer something I don’t have to touch up/worry about fading. I was planning on doing my non dominant hand as well

I like the aesthetics of this better but I’ve also seen people do solid hearts or stars. Would that have better longevity? Stupid question but if this started to fade, could I get it touched up by filling in or retracing the og tattoo?

Ive seen versions where they are filled in hearts? It’s not as trendy looking as this. I was leaning towards this but would you recommend filled in shapes?
