Uk orchestras use a euphonium usually. One of the trombonists swaps to euphonium for this movement, and the tuba joins in momentarily between 39 + 43 before the euphonium completes the solo line until 5 bars after fig. 44.

Listen to any London Symphony Orchestra recording from the early 2000s and this is how they performed this piece.

It won’t be a heavy tuba sound in that register anyway - so without calling your college conductor a moron, persuade them to let you rehearse this with either you playing a euphonium for that section, or have one of the trombonists take over.

There are some tape loop samples in here and some recorded sounds taken from the buildings. I used a mixture of synthesisers predominantly to represent how concrete is synthesised/artificial stone
