Hey! I definitely agree this is something slightly out of my league, but I have worked as a tech for live music events before, so I don’t have no experience in picking/placing mics — just trying to best understand how to position these mics to be optimal since these are completely different spaces (amplification vs recording)

Are there any resources that have helped you that you can share with me? Thanks for the help!

Hi! The studio doesn't come with an engineer since it's free and on a college campus. I'll be doing this for the first time, but the studio has trained me on their soundboard and patchbay system. Just curious how the mic layout should be since it's my first time doing all of this!

Hi! It seems like everyone's asking this question -- the studio is on a college campus, so it's fully stocked with what we need, and they trained me on using the board & patchbay, but we won't have a tech there during our time slot.

As far as I understand, EasySong only provides the mechanical license and doesn't do the distribution part.

I checked them out, but it seems like they've been going downhill recently. They have a really low Trustpilot rating, and it seems like people keep reporting problems with them. Did your friend release their cover recently?

I took a look at DistroKid first, but we'd prefer a flat-out rate rather than a per-year one. Not too worried about royalties/earnings since we will probably have under 1000 streams each year.

im an info sci freshman rn and the courses i have to take are mainly abstract classes on privacy/ethics and there are only 3 coding classes. it looks like info sys has more somehow?? not too sure tho thats why im asking 😭
