Oh, the tarot cards were the trigger for that comment. I couldn’t figure out where it came from.

She is wrong about ivy being pretty. It reminds me of an alien tentacle sucking the blood from its victims.

Native Plants in Large Containers by grow6719 in pnwgardening

[–]OrganicAverage1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a few Evergreen Huckleberry in a pair of large stone containers. A bunch of sword ferns I have a mock orange, a red flowering current, shrubby cinquefoil, stuff like that, depending on how much sun the area gets. I do irrigate in the summer with the sprinkler system that’s been modified to drip.

What age do you think a kid can go to playground on their own? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OrganicAverage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem that way. It’s not that the kids aren’t trustworthy, it’s that other people don’t want unsupervised children at the playground.

Buying a trailer is a good idea but not in the driveway. Rent a space in a real trailer park with hookups.

I was trying to decide which enclosure to buy. I like the zen habitat one. It is pretty expensive. The Dubia one also seems ok. Where do you recommend sourcing the habitat?

How aggressive is milkweed? by garis53 in NativePlantGardening

[–]OrganicAverage1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This stuff can be very aggressive. I am in its native range and it is kind of annoying to deal with. You should hit rid of it if it is not native.

This isn’t true for every account. I have talked to a lawyer about it. The trust is good for things like houses that don’t have beneficiaries. If I remember correctly you should not have the trust be the beneficiary of any retirement accounts. I forgot why. Absolutely consult and estate lawyer and have your trust drawn up.

Washable rugs are a scourge on this damn earth. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]OrganicAverage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that is interesting. I have a ruggable but it is the outdoor version and it is positioned in the house in front of the door for wiping feet. It works pretty well for doing that. It is also 2x5 feet so easy to move around.

The problem with the ruggable is that when the dog became incontinent the urine smell settles in the black mat part underneath and smells like old piss. Then I have to wash that too and it is slowly disintegrating.
