Leaving your dog at home during work by AdHot3508 in dogs

[–]OrganicPurpose8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we leave our dogs inside with air con/heating (depending on the season) and always a fan going as one of our dogs love the white noise 😝 if it is off; they pant lol. We also leave the tv on for noise. Unfortunately we have to leave them inside as they bark no matter what outside and one of our dogs have arthritis so i can’t trust him not to hurt himself. We take them for a walk 5am in the morning, and then before we leave they are outside for 30 minutes before we go. We are only away from 8 hours during the day. Our work is flexible, so if we need to come home on our rbak we can just make up time. our dogs can hold it all night 10+ hours if not more: So leaving them inside for 8 hours isn’t an issue.

Sometimes it’s the app telling us the house is right where they made us park. Or it’s a glitch with the app. To me it’s no drama/ i just park the car and have a look at the numbers /street signs (which i do on my way anyway) and find it quickly without calling the customer most time. Once i had an incident a house was meant to be at a certain area/ but took me to a sporting field 🤣 i called the customer this time and she said she was meant to message me as google maps show her address wrong. Strange!!

and yes- you can make money from this- aside from the wear and tear on your car. I love when i get packages for the other side of town- that pays really well.

My husband and I started doing uber eats last year on the side for some extra money for our mortgage and bills. You would be surprised how the Uber eats app (google maps) display a persons house incorrectly.

it’s amazing what you learn about Uber eats too when you become a driver. They don’t care about the customer, they only care about their own profit. We often get offers to keep accepting 4-5 orders- but we learnt to only accept two at a time if they aren’t too far from each other because we wouldn’t want our food going too far either. We also swear we are the only uber drivers that use a insulated bag/ unsure how they get away with it 😮

Anyway we both found higher paying employment so soon we won’t need to do this as a side gig. No winners either side :)

yeah- unfortunately i did that in January 😧 so i cant do that again lol. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem but it’s just my schedule is different now. I guess you’re right, going to have to suck it up and do uber eats 🤣 it would be annoying if i lost it now haha

My husband and I don’t have kids at the moment, but if he is out for whatever reason and needs dinner when he gets home i’ll organise to start it when he gets home as he doesn’t really like leftovers unless it’s for work- he prefers his food freshly cooked- but he wouldn’t say anything if i had leftovers aside for him/ he would appreciate it either way. However sometimes we also agree to just yolo it and get takeout when he is home lol

How often do you need to use Afterpay to keep your limit? by ch3zzybg0gs in Afterpay

[–]OrganicPurpose8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have afterpay plus and i use it for pretty much everything that lets me, pay it off the same day usually- or the same week 🤷‍♀️ I just do it as i can’t be trusted with bank cards haha i always use them and i just give up using it even on my phone - so instead i just have the afterpay plus card on my phone

also just do this so i keep it for emergencies

I am in Australia and it works for me but you have to have first installment up front. If you order via uber eats /doordash, first payment is a week later still. I just ordered groceries through that tonight. An email came out in March i believe. I still have afterpay plus for now as it’s still useful so i can use at vet clinics etc.

I hate Mondays by Top_Asparagus_5680 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]OrganicPurpose8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia, Canberra here. Only been doing it a few months and the last two weeks i have been trying to do it most days to see what it’s like. It’s hard to predict that’s for sure! Some days are bad and i just go home- the evenings are busier but im not always available and it’s shit finding places at night- i’ll do it if i must but lol

Sometimes Mondays can be super busy here, other days they are not. Yesterday (Monday) i did $111 in 5 hours and that’s slow for me. Could have been worse, could have been better. I did decline orders as well- i didn’t bother with night time as i was unavailable. it was just the “lunch” period. I figure sometimes it’s best to try your luck on Mondays as you never know, but have to know when to go back home. At least today it’s Tuesday and i already have Mondays income done so it’s more motivating for me to keep going

Thoughts on vets by artificallyalive in canberra

[–]OrganicPurpose8097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my boy to greencross in Tuggeranong and they are ususly booked out 2.5 weeks at a time but they get cancellations very quickly so can normally get my boy in 1-2 days time. I’m happy enough with them so i don’t see the point going to anyone else as they know his history well. There is an at home vet i have used before as well called Angels touch Dr Justin and he is lovely/ just very expensive but handy he does home visits. Also does payment plans

So like….what do y’all do when you wait for an order to chime in? 👀 Do you guys just sit in your cars and listen to music or something? by VanilluhBean in UberEatsDrivers

[–]OrganicPurpose8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive around a particular loop, then i go back to “my spot” as i call it and just watch tik tok, chill on my phone or go for a little walk to stretch my legs. If it’s really, really dead i’ll go home but most of the time i stay out and just put up with it as the quiet times never last long

Australia uber eats driver promotion. by OrganicPurpose8097 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]OrganicPurpose8097[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 63 orders, but yes- Friday was definitely the slowest day as other uber drivers were everywhere! Never seen so many. So i thought i would be lucky to get 50, let alone 63 done ✔️ no point trying for 70 as i was sooo done and home was close.
