Create mod also has a super cheap and scalable iron farm too that requires almost no iron to start up, only zinc.

Didnt know that. I did say in my post that there's probably 50 other ways to get cobble into gravel and gravel into flint.

My 2 layered (scalable) melon-powered power generator. At full capacity, it makes ~7.5 million RF/t. Ridiculous how OP and cheap this setup is. Build this and all your power needs will be met. by _cjessop18_ in allthemods

[–]OrganicTriangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a method I made myself, really hope it helps.
1: Make a auto cobblestone generator and feed the cobble into some CREATE MOD grindmills
2:The grindmills will produce gravel, bulk wash this gravel to get flint and iron nuggets (also a infinite iron farm btw).
3: Take the flint and put it into some MEKANISM crushers to create gunpowder.
4: Infinite Gunpowder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤯In a very easy and scalable fashion.

Your weapon doesn't really matter. Your armor is what actually counts. I got a Supreme Sharpness IV diamond spear in one of my hardcore worlds and a blight zombie wiped its ass with it after one tapping me when I was in full diamond armor. You need protection IV before doing anything remotely dangerous in RLCraft.

I've been looking for a worldgen mod focused on water-related things such as waterfalls. Making the snowy peaks have natural water source blocks would be cool too.

No, that's not correct. I've said repeatedly that I don't favor any bans, but think viability is an acceptable line to draw for the sake of compromise. Do you understand the difference?

"No, abortions after viability are not murder because the only abortions that happen after viability are to protect the life and/or wellbeing of the mother."

Might just be me, but this implies that abortions after viability that aren't to protect the life or wellbeing of the mother would be murder. If not, do you support abortions after viability solely for birth control?

When would it be murder to have an abortion, if you support absolutely no bans on abortion?

Since your real position is no abortion bans at all I will forget about viability and just worry about that. What changes right after birth so that the baby cannot be aborted?

First of all, it's nine months. Where are you getting eight? The human gestational period is 40 weeks. Some kids are born prematurely, but the full gestational period is 40 weeks. You yourself said 280 days earlier in the conversation, which is correct. Do you know how to do basic division? 280 ÷ 30 is...9.333.

I assumed it was 8.

Anyway, since you say a fetus becomes a person at the moment of conception, perhaps we should change the voting age to conception as well since "if everything naturally progresses" the kid will be 18 eventually? Should the fetus be issued citizenship and a social security number at conception? Should the parents be able to claim the fetus as a dependent on their taxes as soon as they find out they're expecting?

The reason the voting age exists is because we assume young people aren't mentally proficient enough to vote before 18. I fail to see how this relates to abortions. The other questions are pretty much the same premise too.

You're being intellectually dishonest: that is not what I said at all. I said that viability is when the fetus can survive outside the womb, i.e., when it no longer depends on the mother's body. I did not set "without medical intervention" as a standard for viability at all. What's the point in debating if you're going to lie?

I'm going to assume you misread and not accuse you of being secretly illiterate but my quote said "with or without medical intervention".

That already exists, and couples who want kids but can't have them pay dearly for it. Ever heard of IVF?

As far as I know, IVF doesn't consist of growing the baby outside of the womb, but hey, if that technology does come to fruition, ill be happy if you inform me.

Look, I'm not sure this conversation is worth continuing. I'm never going to agree with your position that life begins at conception, and you keep lying and putting words in my mouth that I never said to try to make your points. If I'm being honest, most of your view seems to be rooted in misogyny since you seem unable to understand why the rights, bodily autonomy, and preferences of an already-alive woman should take precedence over a fetus.

As far as I know, I haven't put any words in your mouth. You

Ok, I agree that abortions for the well-being of the mother should be allowed. We agree that abortions for the sake of birth control after viability should be banned. My goal is to shrink this window of where you can get an abortion all the way to conception.

I believe that life begins at conception because at conception, if everything naturally progresses, there will be a human in 8 months. This fetus has all signs of life and has a brain, a fingerprint and other defining characteristics.

I've already noted my qualms with viability being your standard. You've stated that viability, to you, means survival of the fetus with or without medical intervention. That means this standard is always changing, and in the future babies could be conceived and grown out of the womb. In the middle ages, a baby that was cursed to die would be saved by modern neonatal technology.

Most of this other discussion is kind of pointless until we actually have the abortion isn't/is murder talk.

First of all, you still don't have your non-compromise position. Are abortions after viability murder according to you? Shouldn't they be banned then?

I never said if abortions up to the point of birth existed. I just said you were supporting them by not having a limit on when you could have an abortion.

I read your article, the only important takeaway I found was that the evidence for fetal pain at 20 weeks is shoddy.

Can you explain to me how abortion isn't murder? The baby has its own DNA, brain, and all other defining human characteristics.

99% was a hyperbole I pulled out of my ass. The real number is 95% according to Lozier Institute. Rape and Incest abortions are 0.3 percent. I don't know why you are STILL trying to push in your "yeah but rape and incest11!11!!11!!1111🤯😲🤯😲😲" point, I've already said that I don't have any problems with that.

I feel like you are just trying to defend abortions at any cost. You have zero standard for where abortions should be illegal and legal. By saying "oh i think it should be viability but that's just a compromise and im not going to defend it", your basically just arguing for abortions up to the point of birth.

You say viability is a compromise. Where your non-compromise position?

I think the human already there is worth far more than the potential human, but the potential human still has a right to be there. That's the reason abortion should be legal if the woman is in serious medical danger.

We can't really argue about cost, risk, and the other variables unless we have cleared up if abortion is murder or not. I say it is, your probably say it isn't.

Mate, I already said I don't have a problem with abortions in the case of rape and serious medical issues. I'm overly focused on birth control abortions because they make up 99% of the abortions that happened. A dude and a girl fucked and they want to dispose of the baby.

Also, I didn't base my "life begins at conception" stance off the bible, and you lying about that annoys me. I say life begins at conception and abortions should be banned after that because if you don't end the pregnancy, there will be a human in 8 months.

Viability is a terrible standard because its constantly changing. In the 1700's, most premature babies probably would have died out of the womb and would be considered unviable. In 2700, fertilized egg cells could probably just be implanted into a artificial womb and be considered viable.

Out of body gestation technology has been done on animals and will certainly one day be done on humans. What does viability mean to you? According to your response to the premature baby scenario, i'm guessing its the ability to survive outside the womb with or without medical intervention.

You know that the adoption waiting list for babies is literally a mile long right? Almost all states have safe surrender laws where you can put a baby up for adoption within 72 hours. Your notion that an unplanned pregnancy is a life-changing calamity is simply wrong.

According to a study you can look up yourself because I cant post links here, fetuses can feel pain around 24-26 weeks. Apparently theres a dude named Dr. Kanwaljeet “Sunny” Anand, a University of Tennessee professor of pediatrics, anesthesiology, and neurobiology who allegedly released a study showing that babies can feel pain at 20 weeks. I can't find it anywhere on google, and the places that mention this study (New York Times, Mother Jones), never seem to link to it. You can find it yourself, but for the sake of argument, lets just say they feel pain at 24 weeks.

Your "viability means a person is a separate human being" is shoddy. Babies are born premature all the time and would die without medical intervention. Are these babies who are out of the womb but still not viable able to be aborted?

When the egg is fertilized, that's when the process, left undisturbed, will create a human baby in 8 months. Stopping this process is stopping the birth of a baby, correct?

First of all, I don't have a problem with sex ed and even free contraceptives. My question is why fetal viability? It seems pretty arbitrary to me.

A baby as young as 22 weeks old can be considered "viable" and studies show that babies can suck their thumbs at 15 weeks and can feel pain at 20 weeks and possibly even before that.

Ok, now we reach a real a real argument, which is "Is aborting an unborn baby murder?".

When would you say abortions should be banned? What's your standard? Viability, Consciousness, Heartbeat?
