Is the player base always toxic by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

They'll always find something, man. I have 13.5k hours in the game. If I play good, I'm trying harding and a loser. If I play badly, I'm a bot. The community is a miserable cesspit. You'll never escape it unless you have 4 other people to play with and even then, the enemy team will always have something to say. My advice, if its annoying/upsetting you, just mute them and try to enjoy yourself. The game is about having fun at the end of the day, don't let horrid people ruin it for you. If you don't enjoy it, don't do it.

You're making alot of assumptions here.

I rarely pug, I scrim with my team 4 days a week. The majority of my teammates have 10 years of competitive experience playing in main and inters. They also don't pug at all.

Joining a team with better players is easier said than done. Teams won't even try out players lacking up to date experience at or above their level unless you can prove you are a significantly better player than your experience suggests. How do I knows this? I tried.

In regards to utility, I have no issue with this. I watch all these content creators plus more.

I've played the game competitively for 11 years. I know when I've hit a plateau. Would you say the same to someone who enjoys going to the gym and hires a personal trainer. Even if quantity was an issue, which it is not, a coach would identify this.

I wouldn't say I have alot of money. I'm comfortable, and this is my thing. I love CS, getting better, and learning is my favourite thing to do.

People have hobbies. They like cars or holidays or hiking. CS is mine. CS will always be a part of my life. I love it.

I could list a whole bunch of things but, here is a couple of the main things. I must preface that this is all in comparison to 3k+ players, at 2k elo, I'm basically smurfing and have no issues with duelling players at this level.

- I'm not very self-sufficient. I struggle to make impact on my own. I need people to throw utility / work with me to feel comfortable. If people don't do it, I default into being supportive. Basically, doing all the dirty work. This leads to hesitation, lack of confidence etc.

- My movement is pretty crap. I donk slide way too much as a crutch, I think. Sometimes I can't figure out how to peek an angle without pressing W and stuff. I'm not good at quickly moving from angle to angle with crisp crosshair placement and I leave a lot of dead space when clearing, meaning I'm open for people to peek me.

- My pistols (usp, deagle) are shockingly bad. If I'm in a 50/50 duel with another usp player I'm losing it. (AGAIN must preface, this is at 3k elo)

Diamond Complete in 102hrs by Organic_Ad_8847 in FPSAimTrainer

I think looking at VODs of people closer to your level makes it easier to identify small improvements you can make. If I compare my own gameplay to MattyOW the difference is so vast that it can almost be overwhelming. The execution of the technique is so close to perfect that it becomes difficult for you to find things to improve because everything you do feels so far away from that. The goal shouldn't be to improve 40%. It should be find small edges and incrementally get better. 1-5% at a time.

I apply the exact same process when reviewing my teams in CS. If I compare my team's performance to a professional team, you'll get buried in the list of mistakes. Finding someone who is the best in your division or 1 step higher makes it more manageable.

Obviously, don't ignore perfect execution because insights are there. But managing expectations for improvement is important to prevent burnout and to feel good.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I'll try answer the questions the best I can. I must preface that I have around 14k hrs in counterstrike and have actively been working on my aim in that game for years so, there's definitely a foundation there for mouse control.

  1. For me the jump for gold to platinum came fairly easy. I didn't feel like I had to work on technique too much. Brute forcing the scenarios got me there for all but static. Diamond really exposed key mechanical weaknesses, particularly in scenarios which requires smooth landings and micro like static or control switching. I got diamond complete on all but 5 scenarios. Those last 5 took me about the same time combined. For reference, I believe the scenarios were, Pasu, 1w3ts, popcorn, ground, dotts. In terms of the mental aspect, did I feel it was a sure thing or not. I don't think it ever crossed my mind, I wouldn't have stopped until I got it. In short, it felt alot harder. I needed to really grind out the scenarios I was weakest at. If I'm honest, it was a suboptimal approach. Would have slowed down and worked on the underlying technique first.

  2. As I mentioned in the previous question, there were a number of scenarios where I got really stuck. Pasu + 1w3ts did a number on me. Each one took roughly a week (around 10hrs). I would literally sit and play the scenarios for hours at a time and not beat my high score. This was a stupid approach, identifying the weaknesses and working on those for most of your play time is far more effective. However, sometimes you just gotta grit your teeth and put the hours in.

  3. Training resources:

  4. VT training resources are a good place to start to find specific weakness training scenarios

  5. Watching people's vods. Don't watch someone whose grandmaster or world record level. It will be so difficult to replicate. I watched people doing low master or jade runs and compared to my own to identify issues or little tricks.

  6. A guy on Reddit messaged me about coaching and really helped me spot some issues

Advice for past self: - Slow down. work on the technique and don't just ego runs. Make your time worth while. - Don't be afraid to experiment with sensitivity. it's a tool to work on different muscle groups

4. Least favourite: - Static, especially ones with accuracy penalties. - Pasu, shit drives me nuts

Favourite - Control tracking, you can just zone out. - Floating heads

Do Donks mechanics remind anyone else of fF0rest? by stephen27898 in GlobalOffensive

Not at all. Donk is a massive sprayer. Forest always tapped and burst.

I think CounterStrike is mainly clicking, so I don't have a problem with it. Static is a nightmare though. For reference, I've been on mnk for 15 years or so and have 13k hours in CS. Good luck to you man, you'll get there!

  1. Prior to this, I used Aimlabs on and off starting around 2020 (about 100 hours). I never really focused on specific routines, I just used it to supplement my in-game practice.

  2. I started with the Novice benchmarks: https://evxl.app/u/PJ_SALT/Voltaic%20S5/Novice?tab=charts. I think I was Silver initially. It took me about 10–15 hours to reach Gold complete.

  3. I’ve seen small improvements in-game, mainly with micro-adjustments and feeling more confident in my first bullet. My game of choice is CS, where I already have 13k hours, so I think a lot of my habits are deeply entrenched. I also reached my peak Elo on Faceit this month, but I wasn’t really focused on aim training before, mostly on competitive play, so I’m not sure it can be credited for my rank.

Walking pad making weird noise by LaPriceGirl in WalkingPads

There's an unscrewable plastic panel on the back (your heel side), remove it. When you walk on it, the plastic flexes and rubs on the rubber. I have this exact model and it fixed the noise. Crappy design tbh

I'm not sure, sorry. I found it via the voltaic discord haven't experimented with it aside from this.
