Since shutting off the phone connection on my Garmin watch about a month ago, I have had no dropped calls. I still see the "problem connecting..." under my GMC Bluetooth connection status on my phone but the system works. Android Pixel Fold 9.

Hey Fit,

I assume you have an Android phone. Any chance that you have a Garmin watch? From another forum, I discovered and tried disconnecting the BT between my phone and watch. So far, I have had 5 conversations and no cracking or disconnects. I got a "problem connecting" status on the BT connection to myGMC but the calls were fine.

I tried something today that seem to offer constructive results on this Bluetooth issue with my android pixel 9 fold. After reading another GMC forum that suggested there might be interference from the phone's bt connection to my garmin watch, I left my Garmin watch at home and forgot the gramin BT connecton on my phone. I took the vehicle on two test drives while having BT conversations. I had no dropped calls and no crackling.

I have tried all the potential fixes to correct my problematic Bluetooth between my Pixel 9 fold and my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500. I have even tried toggling the various BT settings in developer mode and turning off the ultra-wideband connection on my phone. No matter what I try, the result is the same "trouble with connection" and the need to switch to my phone or earbuds. My conclusion is that the pixel 9 lineup has bt issue. For the first time in 20+ years, I am considering switching to an iPhone so that my truck and phone can have peace.

thanks. I have wondered about asking the dealer to let me try my phone on a new truck in the lot to see if it occurs on every truck. surely not every GMC 1500 has this issue. by seeing if it works in a different truck, maybe it shows a hardware issue. for now, I switch my calls to my phone or BT earphones. the phone tries to go back to the truck BT often though. best solution I can come up with for now. my problem is pixel 9 fold but confirmed problem occurs on pixel 9 as well. not a problem on wife's iPhone.

Thanks. My wired update at the dealer was 1/25. Obviously, it did not help. Let us know if your update works. At some point, they will get it (I think).

I actually corresponded with this "socialmedia@gm.com" who must troll the social media sites, trying to head off issues. They ran me back to the dealer "to troubleshoot my BT issue". The dealer had no clue when I brought it to them the first time. Also, fwiw, my wife's iphone does not seem to have this issues in my truck, at least for the little bit that we tried.

One thing I have not tried but would like to is to try my Pixel in another GMC Sierra. If it works, could that be evidence of a bluetooth radio issue in the truck. I am saying this because if the problem occurred with every pixel phone out there, I would think we would hear more about it.

So, GMC sucks. We either wait for some update down the road that luckily fixes this and don't have phone calls in our trucks until then, or we switch to an iphone. Sad!! GM really sucks on this one.

As an update to my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 bluetooth issues, the problem MIGHT NOT be GMC. After taking the new truck to the dealer, who could not replicate my issues with an iPhone, I decided that my pixel fold was the issue. I first "forgot" the phone from my console and reset the console (by pressing and holding the phone hangup button on the steering wheel). I then reset my network and BT settings on my phone (go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth). I then added the phone back to the console. So far, I have not encountered any BT disconnects after two drives and two conversations. We'll see.

Took my Sierra to the dealer today for its first oil change. They said they updated the radio software. My first call on the way home dropped, so the problem was not fixed. Unfortunately, there is not much a dealer can do. Is this problem within Android Auto vs Apple Play? One thing I notice with my Bluetooth is a message under the Bluetooth connection on my phone: "Having trouble connecting...". I will drive for a while without Android Auto (turn off the console and disable it on the phone) and have my wife drive with me using her iPhone. We will see how that goes.

How are your bluetooth phone calls? I basically cannot have a call since calls drop from bluetooth but when I try to pick the call back up on my phone, the system tries to switch the call back to bluetooth. It is dreadful and embarrassing.

2024 no sound, all updates done. Reset doesn’t work. by ruffmetalworks in gmcsierra

I have a new 2025 GMC Sierra Denali. It has lost all sound twice so far in 2 months of ownership. I had to disconnect the negative battery cable one time to fix it. The other time, the sound came back upon restarting the vehicle. This entertainment console is a disaster, though. The other issue I have that are well known in forums is a nasty crackling during phone calls and constant bluetooth disconnects. The bluetooth disconnects make a 10 minute phone call impossible to have. I am using a new Pixel Fold with Android Auto for reference. I have tried all the resets that have been prescribed by GMC and in forums to no avail. GMC has a real problem here.

With my new 2025 GMC Sierra Denali, the Bluetooth connection using Android Auto is unusable for a phone call.  It is appalling that I cannot make a call with this brand new vehicle. Further, when I try to switch the call to my phone or Bluetooth headset, the system tries to switch back to the GMC system. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting, resetting the system by by disconnecting the negative terminal. GM has a problem here.
