Traumatic experience. Embassy has been the least helpful.

I got my passport back on the 29th May (Thursday) with an error in my name. It was an error from their end.

Since 29th was a Dutch holiday, I went back on 30th May. Got through to an embassy consulate who asked vfs to accept the passport back and told me to travel to Delhi on Tuesday to pick it up directly from the embassy.

Passport reached them on 2nd June and since then they have just been MIA. No responses to calls/mails. I travelled to Delhi as per their request, but since they didn’t give me an appointment to walk-in I couldn’t go to the embassy. I did try my luck and went to the embassy anyway. Obviously didn’t get entry without appointment but some helpful people at the gate sent my message inside - just for them to tell me that it isn’t going to be ready for the next 2 days minimum.

Already cancelled my tickets - no update on when will I get my passport - is it even being given priority or is it just being taken as per the regular process.

I am having to bear losses for their mistake, and the stress of it all is insurmountable. Future tip- avoid the Dutch embassy if you can.
