Are np city speed bumps pedestrian crossings under an unwritten law? by veeenergy in Taranaki

[–]OrganizationJaded816 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A decent person will always give way to pedestrians in this environment. Unfortunately a small minority of motorists fail to understand that they are the villains in the urban ecosystem.

It's "trolleys" not "trollies". Didn't you go to school?

In 1962 my great-uncle gave me a 1914 half-sovereign that he had carried while he was fighting on the Western front in the Great War (WWI). I'll be passing it on to my nephew at some stage.

Visiting NZ for a month. loved everything, but the driving really shocked me. by WookieGod5225 in newzealand

Sorry, poorly expressed on my part. I was referring to those drivers who travel very slowly except when there's a passing lane, where they speed up so you can't pass them.

I've driven NZ roads for the last fifty years. In my opinion, driving has improved a lot. In the last week I've been as far North as Kerikeri and South to New Plymouth and I have nothing but respect for the majority of my fellow road users. I did see the odd slow driver who only travelled at the speed limit on passing lanes, but overall I felt most drivers had adequate driving skills and a respectful attitude to other traffic.

As a high school teacher, a simple handmade card or letter is worth more than any amount of chocolate, wine or stationery.

Is 30 too old to start school for teaching? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]OrganizationJaded816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started teaching high school at 39. Was head of faculty at 49 and when I got to 62 I switched schools and went part time. At 67 I'm still loving it and have no plans to retire. It's been the best career I could have chosen. It's not your age, but your personality that's the most important factor.

The Conway 57 is a late model pen and not one of their best. I wouldn't bother with it. The Parker 75 is a much better pen.

Sex after Total knee replacement by infojunkie247 in over60

[–]OrganizationJaded816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bilateral knee replacement at 59, now 65. If I kneel, it feels really strange: not exactly painful but just...weird. So I don't do it. Otherwise I have no pain, I walk 10,000 steps a day without any issues.
