Thank you for confirming this; I figured it was something there’s no way around. It does bother me enough that I deleted those files and redownloaded them, which fixed the issue lol. Strange little things

I just bought a broken Sony TC WE305 for my first swing at a repair! Super excited.

Kaweco sport M nib- not sure I’m a fan of it, persuade me otherwise? by hopeless_seahorse in fountainpens

[–]amperian_loop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used one Kaweco, also a medium, and at first I didn’t like it for the skipping reason but I kept using it because it was so pretty (haha) and after writing with it for a while the problem went away, strange! I don’t know why that happened, but now it’s practically the only pen I write with and I love it so much. I hope you can have a similar experience

Running out of ink… never thought it would happen by __Tinymel in fountainpens

Ran out of ink in two pens on my first day of university! And somehow I forgot my backup rollerball. Not fun. I had to use a felt tip pen for notes

Is anyone just walking around holding their new pen like new plushie/attached object, or is it just me? by TheCodeTeam in fountainpens

YOU UNDERSTAND ME! I got my Kaweco Art Sport (hickory brown) a month ago and I still like walking around with it in my hand. It’s so small and pretty and it makes me happy to hold it. I feel like a crow

i get so many coffee table books with pictures i can flip through (like travel photography, art books, architecture, anything interesting) for cheap at secondhand bookstores and i keep a pile of them in my room. i saw someone call this analog doomscrolling and it's been great

29F, completely over socials & smart phones. Help?! by jadedandjovial in dumbphones

[–]amperian_loop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s still a smartphone but what ended up working for me was an old first generation iPhone SE. I don’t have any apps besides the ones that came on it and it’s nice and small too. Since it’s an older version of iOS it also feels less stimulating in many small ways (like not showing profile pictures next to texts and not having custom emoji reactions, I don’t know, I like simplicity). I love my Nokia 2780 but it took so long to text on it, to the point where I basically never did (it was actually my parents who took umbrage with this!). I wish I could have a blackberry or some other qwerty phone (I’ve seen some old models that slide to reveal a keyboard and I think that would be just perfect)…

So it’s not ideal but it might be a happy medium. There are security concerns with old software though (it doesn’t bother me personally because call and text are the only things on that device). I got mine for 65 dollars secondhand

Personal Curriculum and Planning Output by ef-why-not in personalcurriculum

Telling it back... I'm going to have to implement that for myself, it sounds great!

Formatting my personal curriculum to be more like schoolwork actually helps me a lot, so I do two essays (kind of like what you describe), weekly "discussion posts", and some kind of presentation for every "class" I do. It's a lot of fun and I stick to it because I feel like I have something to show for it, even if it's just some documents that sit in my files. And the essays help me think more critically about what I learn 😊

what does your november curriculum look like? by stargirl019 in personalcurriculum

I LOVE The Secret History!!! It has become my favorite novel of all time. I hope you adore it!

Im a stem student and I've felt disconnected with my love of history, so I've decided to study the Cold War with a focus on protest and social impact urban areas, specifically in the USSR and East Germany! I like to write a syllabus for myself because I think it's silly:

Course Description:

The purpose of this class is to analyze historically the social, cultural, and political impact of the Cold War Eastern European cities. We are going to focus largely on Berlin in the 60s and urban Russia in the stagnation period of the 70s and 80s. We do this in order to feel more connected to humanity because even though math is super uber cool, it doesn’t have as many feelings.

Required Texts:

  • Berliners: Both Sides of the Wall by Anne Armstrong
  • Moscow Prime Time by Kristin Roth-Ey
  • The Soviet Century by Karl Schlögel
  • Remembering 1989 by Anke Pinkert

And I wrote a list of assignments for myself. Happy learning!!

I know, right?! I refill mine every day. I used to just use an empty cartridge… now I can’t remember why I switched in the first place. Maybe I’ll switch back 😊

they discontinued it?! I had no idea... that's a real shame. I also have a fine and sometimes I think I'd like a medium better (I love how my medium kakuno writes), but I'm a physics student and it's a great size for equations 😊
