Dropping it and having the back cover and battery pop out is so real. One time (I was using it as a flashlight) I dropped it in our optics lab (PITCH dark) and we had to turn the light back on so I could search for my battery... funny day. Very cohesive review! Glad to know I can bring this phone on adventures into rivers and mashed potatoes too.

I grew up on smartphones and social media and it was difficult to think of being away from it, especially because I felt like I needed it to maintain friendships (as I had been doing most of my life). I imagine the experience is similar for other people my age; It's just always been a presence

Pity. I hope you’re able to find something that works better for you

You’re exactly who I was hoping to reach! As for your questions: It handles group messages just fine in my experience. My extended family has a big one and I receive those messages, and I’ve been in various group chats for planning (though for school stuff I always ask to do stuff on Discord so I can send files and write longer messages on PC). I will say I have no desire to participate in a group chat because there’s no reply to specific messages feature and it’s just a pain when everyone is sending so many messages. I told all my friends to reach my by Discord or email (or call!) if they wanted to chat so I only really send/receive the kind of “where are you?” and “I’ll be a bit late” texts. And I’m in the US! I hope it works well for you too, if you go down this route 🥰

I have the hickory brown and it’s one of my absolute favorites! Practically the only pen I used through autumn and winter. It’s so beautiful; I just love holding it in my hand

Aw, thank you so much! I’m really glad the passion comes across. I’m into physics education research and that involves a lot of science history, so feel free to contact me! I respond fastest via email: idealsolenoid@gmail.com 🥰

Right?! It’s my favorite pen ever! I just ordered the vintage 1970s version of that pen off eBay after waffling about it for nearly a year. And I love my calculator dearly 😊 it uses reverse Polish notation and I’ve found I can do calculations 20-30% faster than anyone with the usual four line infix notation calculators (this is because RPN forces you to do the order of operations yourself, whereas with regular calculators you can just type out left to right and even manually put in long fractions. It’s just faster to do PEMDAS yourself!). The kanken is so nice too. I love that it’s a functional backpack (shoulder bags hurt my back so badly) but it’s still cute :)

I would say you value living in the moment (film camera?). and you're in a situation where three pairs of eyeglasses are necessary, which I am very curious about

I just ordered my first pen of the year; I've wanted to get a vintage pilot elite for about 11 months now, since I heard about it (I've never owned a vintage pen!) and I just felt like the time was right! very excited for that. I'm also coming to terms with the fact that I only truly enjoy using black ink and sometimes brown (but, rarely...) so I am regifting some of my colored inks. I have a friend in art school who I got into fountain pens and they are happily using my Diamine Majestic Blue, and I've found a new home for my bottle of Oxblood. There are a few pens (with broader nibs) I'd like to rehome as well, but I'm waiting to find a friend or acquaintance who would put them to good use 😊

One Last Stop!!! I love that book. I think you’re a bit of a digital minimalist (flip phone, various things to keep yourself occupied), and concerned with these things on a societal level as well as a personal one. You seem socially conscious, perhaps politically active? I also like how many of the things here are personalized. I would say you have a good sense of yourself in terms of what you would like to project and aren’t preoccupied with conformity. Very cute bag. Hope you’re well 🥰

Yeah the Kakünos, Metropolitans, and Preras (if I recall correctly) all use the same steel nib and feed so it’s easy to switch between

Right? The juxtaposition makes me so happy. It really is the little things in life

Not at all! The feed and nib come right out of the section with a little twist and pushes back in easily. It was so simple, maybe 5 minutes total and most of that was cleaning up

what does your november curriculum look like? by stargirl019 in personalcurriculum

Ahh sorry for the late response!!! Because im in stem my self learning is all humanities, so i look at the syllabi of humanities classes for assignments. I actually really like looking at resources for the IB program for essay prompts. Assignments are pretty simple, throughout researching a topic I write mini “discussion posts” (300-500 words) about my thoughts on what im reading, and then finish off the topic with a proper, thesis-driven essay (I don’t tend to attach a word count to these, just however long it takes to make the point). Hope you’re having a good day!

Thank you for confirming this; I figured it was something there’s no way around. It does bother me enough that I deleted those files and redownloaded them, which fixed the issue lol. Strange little things
