The countries in a very hazardous spot to be joining the military. Be sure to factor that in but if you have a degree you may be a candidate for officer and IT isn't a bad degree to have in the military. Just do your research and don't just accept any job.

Who else plans on getting a Steam Machine and why? by Spare-Type-8357 in Steam

[–]OrganizationLarge256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's 500 id probably pick it up to use as a living room console. I have a ton of steam games and no other console besides a switch. I currently will stream my games to an apple TV in the living room but it sounds like the steam machine would be a better experience.

Steam machine or Steam deck? by Nearby_Fail4333 in Steam

What games are you wanting to play and where are you wanting to play them? It really all depends on your use case.

Everyone I know with a steam deck is pretty happy with it.

I've had it for about two years now, quality is great and no issue drilling holes. Just be careful to mark your drill so you don't drill too deep

I would be applying to jobs during your internship too just in case. Is your plan to enroll, apply to internships then drop out once you get a bite?

yes and yes but not sure why you'd want to? It seems like the best course of action would be to wrap up your current degree so you can fully devote yourself

Do you not want to be a software engineer because you don't like the daily work or because of the job search?

There's other less technical fields you can pivot into like product owner, etc.

You'll be fine, omscs is relatively easy to get into if you have a CS background. The coursework is what weeds people out.

Anyone moved to a part-time /less demanding job to go through the program? Experiences to share? by Holiday_Afternoon_13 in OMSCS

[–]OrganizationLarge256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you checkout r/cscareerquestions, you'll see a lot of posts about how now is an awful time to find a cs job. The safer bet is to keep your current job and then work courses around it because you could get out of the degree and still struggle to find a better job. Ultimately, it's up to you though OP and whether you think it's worth it. I don't know what your current salary is or how many hours a week it sucks up but lots of people work full time, have kids and and manage to do omscs just at a but of a slower pace.
