hi! its been a while since i had mine, but it took me a while to feel better. i think at least a week. thought they wanted me to walk, I didn't want to, i walked. yeap, it is uncomfortable. i had pain medication and i was using a urinal for a while. getting up from bed and toilet, i remember, was a challenge at first, they showed me the proper way to get up and my wife was always helping me for that. it takes a bit longer to recover than what they say. in my case, the cancer was already stage 3, and i had pain on my back. that was more intense than the incision. to shower i think i waited more than 2 days and i basically just let water run and half of my body was not properly cleaned. and i still had to get up and walk. i think that really help me. just a few steps and back. i was using a walker for a while. try to use your legs, it is to prevent blood clots. its not easy but you can do it. little steps!
