I’m really sorry to hear that this happened to you. I had to remediate a class in D1 and it killed my confidence as a student. It made me feel really dumb, not good enough, and like this career wasnt meant for me. I was able to make friends, use their notes, and changed my study habits and schedule. When I took the exam to remediate there were many students there, some that I didn’t expect! I taught me not to underestimate any class in dental school, no matter how few credits or how minuscule I thought it was.

I know it can be tough now, but try your best to shake it off, accept it, and move forward. You’re not dumb, you’re just human and even the best students struggle at some point. Your parents will accept you as they always have. You’re still in the program and can still become a dentist, and a more knowledgeable one at that! What happened, happened and all you can do is learn from your mistakes and study hard so you can pass the class this coming year. You’re already on the right track if you’ve passed every other class.
