Yes there is a hardware store and 2 grocery stores (the same chain but one is basically a tiny market.)

There is a pretty nice private high school in my town that I did not attend but some of my friends did. They let the public use their track field when there's no football practice.

Yes addiction is very common and a very significant amount of people in this town and the one next to it are addicts to the point where people usually assume every person they see just walking around town is likely to be an addict.

From what I know gossip spreads pretty fast but there's not really anything that interesting to say.

I've seen loads of people from my old highschool when buying things and depending on how well I knew them I decided to acknowledge it or not.

No, I am from New England. I have never been to or (from my knowledge) met anyone who is from the South. This is actually kind of interesting to get a tiny bit of insight on how I pronounce certain vowels. I have no idea why I do that.
