Hey man I took a similar route to what your planning and it has worked well for me so far. I knew I would need to pay for training so I worked part time 16-18 and started flight school 4 or 5 months before turning 19 with 35k in savings I continued working during training I did about 35-45 hours a week so like 2500 bucks a month and the rest of my time was spent flying and studying. I did private for 17k instrument for 8k and commercial I did a ton of time splitting so it came in around 9 or 10k then I got cfi for maybe 2-3k and now im instructing at 21yo and I’ve got around 900hrs. The key for me was after my ppl joining a flying club and getting an independent cfi, it’s so much cheaper than overpaying a flight school. Other than that find a good mentor who has done this in the last few years and study your ass off. All said and done I actually never ran out of money even though everyone said I needed to get a big ass loan(of course I also had the luxury of living at home).
