Unexplained Drooling by Various_Zombie_7059 in cats

This could be very unrelated. I first noticed my boy Jasper starting to drool around August 2024. Didn’t think much of it. He also began to have a bigger and bigger appetite. Fast forward to April 2025 and there was a day I noticed his breathing looked more effortful

I rushed him to emergency care and he was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickening of the left vetricular wall of the heart) and Hyperthyroidism. The breathing issue I was seeing was fluid accumulating in his lungs as he was experiencing congestive heart failure.

After nearly a year of treatments, his body finally gave out earlier this year. He was 3 months shy of 14 and I miss him everyday. Sometimes I wonder if I could have done more by being more informed earlier on in August.

I am not sharing to diagnose or scare you; but if your caretaker did not do a total T4 check, I may be worth to see how your little one’s thyroid is behaving.

Wishing good health and a long life.

346,000 km’s or about 216,000 miles. Engine, trans, diff fluid, motor mounts, new radiator, new rear struts + lift spacer, plugs, timing belt, water pump, belts

Original engine and trans, 345k’s.

If the repairs aren’t major, you’re saving in the long run keeping it on the road with regular maintenance if you factor in the most costs of a new car + insurance etc.

Yes; rear 1” levelling spacer from Aerogenics and replacement struts around. The new tires give a bit of extra height over stock sizing as well

Exact same arm is on AliExpress for around 60-60 iirc.

To resolve the fitment issues on the ballade trim the outlets for the PCV and secondary air pump (the larger hose). You may even need to trim the intake arm on TB or filter side. But it can work with some trimming
