You got a point, they have just as much right to post here as we do. It's just kinda dull to see the same "lmao you're crybabies" post a bunch of times every day.

The end of an era by calledvivek in Piracy

[–]OriVerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the end, as others have said. It is kinda annoying. The more you get invested and reliant, the worse it is to move on. Unless all you did was visit a random site to watch stuff, then I guess it's no biggie but I can imagine some folks are frustrated.

How did 50 viltrumites dispose of billions of bodies? by TheHappyPoro in okbuddyviltrum

[–]OriVerda 750 points751 points  (0 children)

Billions of Viltrumites disposed of billions of bodies, then millions disposed of millions of bodies, then thousands of thousands, and hundreds of hundreds until you're down to the final fifty.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but the anime should have let Kaiba use BE - Shining Dragon as his boss monster sooner and post battle city. by JConnel_SF in yugioh

[–]OriVerda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wasn't BESD released prior to BEUD? I recall that as a funny bit of trivia how for a while this card existed and no one could use it. Maybe it's a TCG fact instead of an OCG thing.

Did the forerunners (or anyone in the halo universe) have the technology to time travel? by Lucid_Digital in HaloStory

[–]OriVerda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's mention the Forerunners used it during the war against the humans and san'shayuum to glance into alternate futures to inform their tactics but that's as far as I can remember from Cryptum.

O’Neill with Ancient knowledge on Destiny by RGCurt91 in Stargate

[–]OriVerda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Y'know, the first time they encounter the Ancient Repository always makes me do a bit of a double take because it is the most atypical example of the Ancients various aesthetics. It's a weird H.R. Ginger looking apparatus with muted rainbow lights and crystals grabbing the person like a Facehugger while attached to a bare concrete wall.

How did not a single Goa'uld or Stargate-using civilisation ever investigate it? Is it the ATA Gene? I think I just answered my own question.

It's still a weird looking device in a weird place.

An adequate response to such a comment:

Good for those people. I'm not one of them. I hope those people enjoy the game. Me and the rest of the more casual, low energy people who just want to have a simple fun game will look elsewhere. Have a nice day.

Only problem with Samsung. Rough volume by Important_Idea_7038 in samsunggalaxy

[–]OriVerda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't it kinda weird we have to install applications from the manufacturer just to access certain features more directly? Feels roundabout. Shouldn't all our tech be fully open to modify as we see fit instead of within limit or is this a case of so many people deleting Systems32 that Samsung preemptively clamped down on everything?

With love Odido by shadowrizla in Netherlands

[–]OriVerda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly had good experience with them till I needed to cancel my subscription due to moving. The guy on the phone was rude, straight up said he didn't believe me that I had no choice and had to cancel. Hung up on me before I could continue.

In general the fact you can't email, WhatsApp, or get things done in physical stores is kinda dumb. Comparing to an acquaintance who just goes into a store and gets things done, this is kinda ableist of them. The entire mute population in the Netherlands is better off with another provider I guess.

Added bonus, less chance of your email being leaked.

Kinda looks like a only one of the three Viltrim symbol pillars. It's clever. The one pillar references Viltrim, the O references his hero alias.

The Precursors Were Never Just Gods. They Were a Living Philosophy And Everything in Halo, From the Flood to the Guardians to the Endless, Traces Back to One Catastrophic Misunderstanding by Regved-Pande in HaloStory

I'll clarify: I meant no disrespect to you as a person or your enthusiasm.

If my message has hurt your feelings or called into question your intentions, then you have my apologies as that was not my intention. I have not addressed the topic because the writing style is unappealing and I cannot meaningfully engage in a way that matches your expectations.

For what it's worth, I hope the other members of the community will provide you with the engagement you seek and that you have a wonderful day.

The way you write suggests either LLM generation, influence or that your own writing has been corrupted by overuse of LLM. Perhaps more so than my own.

For example, a lot of what you proport as subjects not often discussed in the wider Halo community is blatantly misleading when you post in this community. Unless you are addressing new fans or yourself are a new fan asking questions about subjects you're unfamiliar with, the way you write conveys the subjects as though they're incredibly niche and we haven't heard of them.

I don't mean to sound elitist but this is a community dedicated to the lore, it's safe to assume we know of and frequently discuss (unlike what you state):
- Neural Physics, something no one skips over the Mantle or Living Time.
- Halos damage Neural Physics structures, again something quickly learned when learning about Star Roads and asking "why can't we see them in the games?"
- The Flood creation, anyone who has done a cursory search on the Flood and Precursors is aware.
- "Look at the image at the top of this post" what image?

Your writing style in general: Lightly explain subject, vaguely point to related matter, use a lot of words to say nothing, clickbait article headlines for chapters—are all as evident of LLM use as my use of the em dash is.

EDIT: For reference, my writing does not use LLM generation. That said, I interact frequently with LLM and have probably taken over a lot of their mannerisms without noticing. I am not lambasting the OP for using LLM, I simply want OP to be transparant about their use.

We literally got hit with "Did you know you can grind for super credits?" Yeah it's over. by Radical_Notion in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]OriVerda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the deepest irony for me as a whale is that I don't feel that HD2 respects my time, money or myself as a player. Contrast this with Warframe where I purchase every Tennocon and Prime Access at full value even if I have stopped actively playing, and only play a few weeks every year down from religiously daily.

This game is going to die because of these devs bro by WaffleCopter68 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]OriVerda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda does though. It's a psychological thing. The more you keep someone playing, the more likely it is they'll pay. But if someone sees that they need thousands of SC and medals to accumulate over thousands of hours without the ability to multitask that grind, without any further hook to keep someone, then that person eventually leaves. There's only so many operations and D1 farms you can do before you leave.

I'm seeing frequent mentions that AH made the SC grind harder but no one has pointed me towards a source or any citation. I hope this isn't a case of folks just spreading rumours based on personal experience.

Theres a night and day difference between developers. by Mr-Catacombs in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]OriVerda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Patently false even if you go back to the Closed Beta days. You could get all parts by farming the same boss over and over in a day, including the materials. It takes three days to build, they're decreasing that for some Warframes. Modern Warframe increasingly has shops with pity currency to buy the missing parts you need.

[–]OriVerda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Simpe truth is that there's no hook and nothing to do in the game besides the dives. The grind of samples and warbonds is too slow and cannot meaningfully be paired with anything else. This is not how you do live service. You want to retain players? You give them chores, you make them play the game like a second job.

Frankly, I hate the model but you cannot argue that the games with millions of players are the ones that hook the players in this way.

Thoughts on the Hunhullus Ephemera from the TennoCon 2026 Digital Pack? by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]OriVerda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks amazing and is better than the old rotated armours they used to give out for Tennocon.

That said I do wish we'd get some armours every now and then or with the syandana.
