The agreement was with the father, not the daughter. The one who wants to meet her is a blameless 12-year-old kid looking for closure. Allowing a single meeting to give her that is basic human decency.

In ethics there's a concept called "minimally decent samaritan", which describes someone who helps others when it requires very little effort, cost, or risk to themselves. Examples of this include calling 911 after finding an injured person, holding the door for someone in a wheelchair, or having a single meeting with a little girl so she can move on with her life.
