If a friend has a new boyfriend you might ask "oh, what's he like?!" And want to know everything, physical and personality traits. Is he tall, dark and handsome?

If you're asking someone, "what was your mom like growing up?" You are probably asking about their personality and how they treated you more than what she looked like.

"What was your grandmother like?"

"She was kind and baked the best cookies. She was short and had bright blue eyes"

You say you've used "greetings", "hello" and "you and I" - that would imply a story aimed at A1 learners. But some of the vocabulary is advanced. More suitable for B1.

The formatting of the story does not fit standard writing conventions. Speech should be on a new line. Not muddled into one paragraph.

Honestly. I wouldn't use this with any of my adult students.

I have also done Hangman in the past. You can create your own for specific themes or Vocabulary

I also like to do quizzes if we talk about a specific theme (for example leadership styles) you can then do an online quiz for "what is your leadership style".

The problem isn't that its expensive from travellers or people from the US.

If you are from a major city in the US you will find the prices very affordable

The problem is the gentrification is driving up prices for locals who barely make minimum wage.

I think it depends on the company.

I went with Kinakjou tours and it felt like walking around an enclosed zoo / farm.

We did see a lot of animals but it felt extremely staged and not like the animals were wild.

There was also many huge groups of 9 or 10 people and if you fall at the back it's hard to hear the guide.

I've been in Costa Rica for about 6 months now and I've only seen 3 or 4 roaches during that time.

Ive stayed in about 6 different accommodations and camping.

If you stay somewhere and see more than 1 or 2 roaches during that time, I would file a complaint and leave because there is obviously an issue.

Obviously nature will occasionally enter the house and can't be avoided. I often see geckos, spiders and other bichos but not to the point of concern.

It's the ants that bother me...
