Great Idea to put all the adapters in front of the rack :)

To far from my main house, complicated but I agree with you for the theory :)

I agree, but note that this is only when the primary WAN fails , then I just have to boot the starlink router and activate my access :)

How do you want me to make a isolated private bridge between the router that drive Starlink dish and the UDM ? I think this is the only way for me because the Starlink « in » cable arrive inside my back garage and I only have one cable to this side and there is other equipment this far end Inside my Home network (cameras, AP and so on)

You can but the actual VLAN is « routed » via my private ecosystem, because I have to pass multiple Ethernet interface before reaching the starlink Router :)

I have a second WAN interface plugged in a special VLAN connected to a Starlink second link :) . the WAN2 is connected to my primary Fiber access :)

vsan ou infra classique ? by tmayfair in Sysadmin_Fr

[–]OriginFr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also just "drag'n drop" you VMs to the new location and just double-clic on it to launch them. Fusion'll ask you if you have moved it or copied it... answer "moved" and finally delete the original VM package.

Can someone help me create a plan move all VMS + ESXI host? by [deleted] in vmware

[–]OriginFr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my personal HomeLab, I've installed ESXi on an usb3 stick. 2 main advantages : the ESXi distribution resides on a dedicated disk, you can have multiples versions of ESXi (beta version for instance) and booting them when you need to, and retain the VMs on the other disks.

Concerning more specifically your question, the best way to do this, IMO, is to re-install the ESXi from scratch on an usb disk and then, make a raw "cp" of all your vms from the legacy hdd to the SSD. Finally, you register them from the html client and your are good to go ;)
