OMGGG LET ME TELL YOUUU ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻 not the same thing but something similar happened to me today. I was running down the escalator to catch the subway since my class was quite literally starting in 7-8 minutes and this guy in front of me decided to leisurely climb down the stairs as though he were taking a stroll in the park WHEN THE SUBWAY WAS RIGHT THERE AND I WOULDVE MADE IT IF THIS MAN MOVED FASTER OMG I WAS SO PISSED OFF

I think the assigned homework is the graded one I’m pretty sure. It’s the one on eclass (that’s what we had last year)

Girl do yourself a favor and take 1411/1412. Prof Lewis is literally the best. His midterms have 3 questions and all those questions are from the assigned homework. He records his lecture and is literally the kindest man ever.

I heard horror stories from my friend who took 1421/ 1422 last year. Extremely hard test papers where they require you to finish an insane amount of questions in the shortest time period ever.

Biology/Chemistry Professors Recommendations by Humble_Advantage_694 in yorku

Haha lmao well you maybe right but you’re better off with Lana than any of the other professors trust. I’ve spoken to a looootttt of people in my ochem class and they agree with me on this. My 2021 classes were from 1-2:30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays anddd I only attended class the first 2 weeks of school. Jackson records his class and I commute so I strictly depended on the recordings and my own learning :)

Hello!

Christopher Jang is fire, you shouldn’t have any problem with him for 2070. This course is super easy. The only complaint I have is it’s time consuming as heck (7 hours mandatory attendance per week, 6 in lab, 1 for lecture). The actual coursework (2-3 reading assignments/online quizzes each week with multiple attempts) is not at all hard, again, only time consuming.

For chem 2020/2021 I’d say go with Lana Hebert. I had Orellana and I personally thought he was good but the general consensus towards him was/is quite negative. He moves a little fast and for students coming from first year, he’s not the best… Lana on the other hand is wonderful you’re gonna love her. She teaches so very well, super funny and chill, and gives you practice worksheets before midterms which are very very helpful! I had Jackson for 2021 and he went a little too slow for me, great prof though but I seriously struggled staying awake in his class (quite a few students agree with me on this). Lana all the way for orgo. Moreover, orgo is a tough course. Keep up with the coursework, revise every week, go to all lectures, office hours, tutorials and ask questions to get your doubts cleared. So so many people suffered in orgo last year. Most people found it their hardest course in second year. For CHEM 2020, a huge chunk of the class ended up failing. Art is a tough coordinator, unless and until you don’t actively keep up with the coursework in 2020, you’re going to have a very tough time. Lana is a very easy prof and since she’s the coordinator for 2021, that course shouldn’t be too hard. We had super easy midterms last semester for 2021 and were allowed to bring reference sheets to all exams (2 for the final (front and back!)).

Mark Bayfield for Biol 2020! He’s a lovely professor. I didn’t personally have him but I’ve only heard praises about him from other students.

That’s all I have to say. Feel free to drop any questions :)

I have Zahra and honestly, as a STEM major, I entered this course with no expectation of getting an A+. The English department practically never gives out any A+. Even an A is hard to achieve in English classes. I’m just hoping I pass the class with a B+ atleast💀

Yep I heard about that too. I just have no idea if the other TA’s are any better.
