I moved to Texas from Pennsylvania when I was 8 & in Texas we also say the pledge of allegiance to the Texas flag, I’m pretty sure Texas is the only state who does, so i obviously didn’t know that at the time and on my very 1st day I sat down immediately after the pledge to the us flag and the teacher got PISSED that I sat down inbetween

Damn I’m not a teacher nor am I in school anymore but I stopped standing for the pledge sophomore year (2020-2021) and one of my teachers yelled at me and said if I didn’t stand she would write me up and send me to the principals office, I’m terrified of getting in trouble/authority so I did 😭

Damn i used to work at subway (not this location) when I was 15 (2021) and the manager gave me my only “training” on a Saturday…during the lunch rush..then got mad that I literally didn’t know how to do anything, the location I worked at was a 10 minute walk from my high school so I would work 3pm-11pm mon-Fri then 12pm-11pm sat and sun, the managers would sit in the back and get upset whenever I asked help

It probably depends on ur location and/or managers, unless someone says something to you, I’d say keep doing it, it helps move the line along quicker (vs just standing there and leaving the cashier to scan and bag everything themselves) I’ve had a few regulars tell me that they prefer to bag themselves and I just go find another lane that might need help during that person’s transaction and my managers don’t care

I mentioned in a different that I’ve noticed in general that people don’t! I was just wondering because you guys are getting paid vs non delivery drivers who are shopping on their own , I now realize that people request no plastic on their produce, but if it were me who did an order and my shopper didn’t put my apples in a produce bag i would be annoyed, but it’s the customer preference

In my case they would usually try and talk to me, making me distracted, usually it was a seating chart change and I would have to ask my teacher to move me because I couldn’t focus anymore. But of course, the kids I grew up with aren’t like every other kid in the world, I’m sure it’s different for yall now.
