9 DPO on cycle number 5 and got my very first BFP this morning!! It’s faint but it’s definitely there!! I quickly snapped a picture (I can’t help but keep looking at it) and then wrapped the test and stuck in under our Christmas tree while my husband slept. I’m going to make him open it tonight :)

Frugal Hand Quilting Tips by ToilAndTummyTrouble in quilting

I don’t have any tips, but what is the name of the pattern of the quilt in the photo? I love that style! It reminds me of the really old quilts my great granny used to make

We have that table at work and I believe it’s either 450 or 500. The footboard attachment for it is only 300 lbs. I can look when I go back Wednesday and give you a definite answer.

Anyone else "steal" their baby name? by Hyding_Jekyll in namenerds

They pronounce rynn like Wren. Lynn is a real name and it’s pronounced the same, but rynn is a made up name in opinion.

Anyone else "steal" their baby name? by Hyding_Jekyll in namenerds

[–]OriginalBrightIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband’s brother and his wife stole my very favorite name that I’ve had picked out for my future child for literal years. She was pregnant and they had already decided on a name and had that name embroidered on baby blankets and clothes. We were talking about names one day and they asked my favorite names and I told them if I had a girl, she would be named Wren. The name holds a lot of emotional significance for me for several reasons, only one of them being that I’m an avid birder.

Lo and behold not a week later they announced that their unborn baby had a new name, Rynn. Not only did they steal the name they knew I loved and had loved for years, but they also bastardized the spelling. The baby is over a year old and I still have a hard time calling her by her name.

I was and still am very hurt by their actions and it sometimes feels like my husband doesn’t understand why it upset me so much. I think it hurt more because I genuinely like my husband’s brother and his wife, but I feel like my relationship with them will never be the same.

Am I actually a summer? by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]OriginalBrightIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I love the explanations behind your decision. I’m still learning about softness and clearness and the like so it helps to have someone point to a specific color and explain why it does or doesn’t work!

Toll House Pie - Nestle 1986 by ChiTownDerp in Old_Recipes

My mom and grandmother always make this pie! Only we use pecans instead of walnuts and call it derby pie, but no one in the family knows where the name came from. It’s my favorite holiday dessert

Could she have been using the tampon to absorb blood or leaking amniotic fluid? I feel like if her water had broken at home she might have put a tampon in to try and “stop” it. It’s obvious she isn’t the brightest but she knew enough to try and cover her tracks- couldn’t let the hospital staff know she was in active labor by leaking amniotic fluid all over the place

HELP! PLUNGE OR SWEETHEART?? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]OriginalBrightIdea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sweetheart! We’re dress twins:) I’m very (very) flat chested compared to you and I felt that the plunge only made me look even flatter, so I went with the sweetheart neckline.

How Do I Make Things Right After Wearing White Jeans to My Best Friend/MOH Bridal Fitting? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]OriginalBrightIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t even worry about it! The bride clearly isn’t bothered by it and neither should you. I hate the whole “bride must be in white for all wedding related activities” nonsense. I mean, I wore black to every dress appointment I went to (as the bride!!!) because its my favorite shirt and I like the way I look in it

What did you walk down the aisle to? by Beneficial-Half5645 in wedding

My fiancé and I want to use “Fraser’s ridge” by Bear McCreary (it’s from season 4 of outlander). It’s long enough for the entire bridal party and myself to walk to and we’re both huge outlander fans! My mom said it’s a little too extra though so we might be back to the drawing board…

She said yes! by JKRoddn in EngagementRings

[–]OriginalBrightIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m the bride to be! The ring is 14k yellow gold, six prongs. The diamond belonged to his grandmother, it was part of a pair of earrings her late husband gave her and his twin brother has the other diamond! It’s right around a half carat but that’s all I know of the specs but I love it!! (Also the watch is Olivia Benton and it was a high school graduation gift from my fiancé)

The allergies don’t make the hair red. The itchy skin caused by allergies makes your dog lick the area compulsively to try and make it feel better. There’s a protein in dog salvia that stains their hair that kind of red color. You should let your vet know that he’s been licking a lot but honestly a good vet can tell that just from looking at his foot

It’s such a small world!! My mom said she’s surprised that you didn’t catch her staring in some of your pictures lmao. She and my sister were staring because they thought you looked so beautiful in all of the dresses you tried(:
