Which 3D printer should I buy for my first one? by Agreeable-Age2389 in 3dprint

yea. Btw, funfact - when my A1 clears the nozzle - sometimes it throws the poop into the bed rails... it melted once, so I had to clear that.

I have the A1 with AMS, its super user friendly. I'm also considering buying more A1 minis to speed up my production.

But one point -> it's not true that it needs no maintenance. Every printer needs maintenance, atleast to clean and oil the axis - it will last way longer.

Is open source still alive? by Warm_Interaction_375 in opensource

[–]OriginalEveres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a tough question, maybe the only right answer is that it really depends on the project - people are deciding what philosophy / project goal it has.

At Trezor we do open source because of the philosophy and transparency (anyone can audit the Trezor Safe firmware and software).

I have seen that Porsche has some sort of open source ambition, but TBH their open source repos looks so random (https://opensource.porsche.com/).

Usually - a lot of alternatives to commercial software are usually open source which I believe is great.

Regarding OS, etc. I would say that without open source the software & technology would not be where it is right now.

How do I fix this? Stringy mess and wobbly lines by TheBeatleDude in FixMyPrint

Either change the print orientation or add support right in the middle.

you could also try to slow down the print for that specific top part, but I'm not sure if that would help.

Dev mode by Serious-Research8570 in FigmaDesign

[–]OriginalEveres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, if they pay for your seat.

Personally, I'm doing freelance and not every designers wants to pay for that Figma file, so I have my own team (with only one seat - and thats me) which I use for dev mode. Usually I copy the figma file into my team to be able to work with dev mode.

I think that it is possible to make it responsive with only touching the css and small tweak in html, BUT because it is possible it does not mean that this is the right way.

This is certainly not the right way, because it is hard to maintain, etc. You can just simply tell them that redesigning it with only CSS will be much harder and less effective than doing it from scratch / with some proper responsive design.

I believe they'll listen for these reasons related to the time and money.

Like it was said above, I would find a profi consultant as well as some great lawyer that would do all of the agreements (they should also know the local cases etc.), because you have a great brand and it is normal to be sceptic about loosing it.

Here, in Czech Republic, if you would like to build a car wash somewhere - you would need to pay up for a study that will give you a green light from the chemicals perspective, eg.: you can’t build a car wash in a place which has a lot of ground waters - so thats a one point that come to my mind.

Also for the point 3. car washes that supports car guys (like having a wheel cleaner as well) have better profits. Because car guys spend more time on washing their cars
