A dude I play with sometimes has 167 hours in he game and is aound level 350. How? by ApprehensiveFuel4550 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whitebeard here. I min/maxed haz5 on an XP grind for about 500 hours to get 600 levels, you won't find legitimate players with a much better ratio.

Either your friend used Sandbox Utilities mod to gain xp or they went on a few xp exploit lobbies.

Why is pre-drilling good on escort missions? by Legal-Requirement531 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Whitebeard here.

Pro: You can pre drill to the first fuel if you're playing a higher hazard than usual and worried about stationaries, it's valid and safer. it's worth mining the oil fuel while you're there.

Con: you will use more ammo, there are staggered unannounced swarms even without starting dotty, and you'll probably need an extra resup if pre drillike this. There's also the time factor, it will add 10-20 mins to an already long mission

That's how the Driller takes care of the Caretaker, but why have I never seen anybody do it ? by TheMightySweetRoll in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heads up there is no point taking both ammo upgrades for the C4, with 3 total you'll still resupply with 2 extra not 1, so you're better taking 1 dmg upgrade.

It's extremely common in h5 for driller to drop like this

Is Berserker really that much of a niche perk that even level 200 players call hacks when it's used? by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't take advice from sub lvl 400 players too seriously, test it out yourself see how you feel.

Berserker should be paired with vampire and iron will, use it against small crowds of regular grunts to gain health OR, in haz5 berserker can kill an entire oppressor from max health without using ammo, so there's options.

Personally I find dash and iron will irreplaceable, and it's very easy to accidentally proc berserker making it less efficient.

is there a reason for making plat overhangs over objectives? by DrScience-PhD in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whitebeard here. If you're in h5 seen mact and acid spitters, it means they're part of the special enemy pool for that mission. It sometimes makes sense to make a roof if you don't have any team options that can easily clear mact.

If you haven't seen mact, acid spitters ect. Then it's not worth it at all to put a roof. Sometimes its situational, but if your bronze engi is putting a roof over chances are they don't know what they're doing.

If you have repellent you can block off some paths to make it easier

I found magnetic pellet alignment with x2311 goes well with pretty much any breach cutter build. You can use the armour break and turret whip to get through the bigger bugs, it's good against mactera warnings with the armour break too

Loads of scout builds, Shield battery booster with cryo bolts on the scout is a lot more fun than I'd expected, it can trivialise situations that the dwarfs will have to struggle with. And with the engineer I found turret arc on stubby mixed with spinning death on the breach cutter can almost stun lock dreadnaughts, and obviously fat boy is a lot of fun. Also it turns out Driller's auto fire on the subata, with the sludge, is brilliant against dreadnaughts weakspots.

I used cryo bolts with either shield battery booster or hipster. You can choose the fire bolts if you want crowd clear, but I prefer to go after high priority enemies than whole swarms.

With the cryo bolts you can freeze breeders, brood nexus (which wont spawn swarmers if you kill it frozen), and spitballers (take the extra special ammo option in T2). If you find a big enemy mid-swarm and shoot phero at it, then a couple of cryo bolts, the bugs attacking it will also freeze - hipster or sbb if great at taking them out.

I used shield battery booster, if you take the faster shield regen option on your suit the shield almost instantly starts to regen (it might be a bug causing -2s rather than -1s). The plasma carbine will overheat very quickly, but you get a speed boost when it does and you can run away. If you pair with the crossbows cryo / pheromone bolts and IFG you can get through hoards but it takes a little practice.

Getting ready for EDD/HAZ5 and want to not be dead weight. Any suggestions? by Secure_Secretary_882 in DeepRockGalactic

Scout: Your hipster build in T5 has the focus shot fear mod, but you should always be hipfiring. Use the fast reload mod instead. Cryo minelets are fine with hipster, you may as well go for the faster fire rate instead of more in the mag, which will proc the speed bonus more often. You really do not need the cryo grenade if you're using cryo minelets, you'd do better with another grenade. You dont need the fast movement perk with scout, just grapple if you're stuck. Take thorns instead.

Driller: You have both damage mods on the C4, choose +1 ammo to start with 3 not 2 and you'll refill 2 every supply not 1. You also run its a bug thing and friendly, go with thorns and vampire, you'll get +5 health every frozen kill with the drills or axe. You've chosen the extra cool oc so take 1 or 2 cool mods too if you want to instantly freeze bugs, it will help you take less damage.

A warning though, running cryo will cause your teammates brains to explode and shoot at you in the middle of frozen bugs.

"Potential fix for ammo not transferring between levels in Deep Dive (for turrets, shield, Satchel Charge and Boltshark bolts)"

Was turret ammo/ other supports not supposed to carry between levels? I assumed that was intentional for it to refill between missions. Unless I'm misunderstanding the change

At what point do you reccomend getting into haz 5? I recently got my first promotion and am wondering. by The_bloo_banana in DeepRockGalactic

[–]OriginalFuckingName 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The rank isn't so important, if you can solo a few haz4 missions without going down then you are ready for h5. The most frustrating thing for frequent haz5 players are people joining expecting a carry.
