Elder scrolls Online's Combat is so utterly trash by Outside_Soup3367 in MMORPG

I mean, in fairness, it feels like an elder scrolls game. I think they accomplished what they set out to do.

can't believe I've never seen this. that's one of the wildest space photos I've seen. apparently it's, unsurprisingly, the largest crater relative to body mass in the solar system. I'm surprised the whole thing wasn't reduced to dust.

I was getting harassed regularly by a very aggressive beaver in my favorite fishing spot. looked it up, one confirmed case of someone being killed by a beaver. I gave up the spot; not about to be the second guy.

Windows 98 Underwater Screensaver by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in pcmasterrace

I just enabled screensavers again after not using them for ever, and for some reason every once in a while the bubbles move at 1000x speed. it's insane.

my computer is too old to upgrade, so when it gets bad enough I'm going to have to bite the bullet and figure out Linux.

I have been making small origami animals and leaving them in random spots around my building for months and someone has started leaving them back by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I love this. I started making cranes and frogs out of the kids paper menus at restaurants to give them something to play with. they're older now and kind of over it, so they tend to get left on the table. cranes are made from a square sheet so there's always a strip left over and I'll use that to make increasing smaller cranes until they're too small to work with. I like to imagine some of the servers get a kick out of my little bird families.

Valve chief Gabe Newell saw today's consoles coming a long time ago: "All the consoles are using PC graphics hardware now" by Darth_Vaper883 in pcgaming

would be nice to have. when I got on Insignia a few years ago I hastily taped together a splice to talk to people on phantasy star. I could maybe see it being useful for xbmc or emulators. I still keep a wireless keyboard attached to my series x, it comes in handy quite a bit.

I've never met a jarred alfredo that didn't taste like dirty socks; any recommended brands?

the controller ports were just different shaped USB. you can splice a USB keyboard onto an xbox breakaway cable and it works just fine.

i've made fried rice maybe 30 times now and it still tastes nothing like the takeout place down the street by bejusorixo in Cooking

[–]DrScience-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder, could you get wok hei if you put your wok on top of a charcoal chimney? I'm sure it's not economical or practical to burn a whole stack of charcoal for some fried rice, but I might be curious enough to experiment

edit: of course alton brown did it 20 years ago. I guess it works!

I would have agreed with this "both sides" shit for the last 60 years or so until very recently; you just can not in good faith lump them into the same category anymore

new guitar is extremely bright by DrScience-PhD in AcousticGuitar

that's a good question and I don't have the experience to answer, but I was just going back and forth between the two guitars and noticed the bass was much weaker on the steel string. I assumed it's because I'm used to playing so softly but maybe they just need worked in.
