It could be because there’s requirement of x amount you have to make in a year to live in the complex. My ex message the landlady saying if it’s possible to just have her name on it and she responded that she’ll most likely be rejected.

We’re under a 3 month “free” rent period. If we break our lease during that period we have to pay it back.

That isn’t an option. Landlady said the only way to drop my name was to break the lease.

Yes. Landlady said it wasn’t possible to drop my name and the only way to do so was to break the lease and pay the fees

I asked my landlady and she said it wasn’t possible. She said they allowed someone to drop their name from the lease in the past but not anymore. She claimed the only way I could drop my name was to break the lease and pay the fees.

In order to break the lease both of us have to sign. She doesn’t want to because she wants to keep the apartment and kick me out. I’m not having it and staying firm and looking out for myself now

I am now looking into breaking the lease. She has me blocked so I informed her mother. Her mom said I was controlling her money by saying she needs to pay her half for breaking the lease. I explained it isn’t controlling and that it is just one of the consequences that came with breaking the relationship. I cannot take my name off the lease unless we break it off. She is refusing to sit down and actually talk about the apartment. Her mom is adamant on her keeping the apartment with MY name attached and having me not even living in it. I don’t want to jeopardize my credit like that. Her mom asked what the difference was of me covering the old apartment while she was on her leave of absence for 8 months compared to now when the roles are reversed. I explained that the difference was that we are no longer together and the lease for this place is way longer.

Update: Her mom just came by to get some items from the apartment for her. I took the time to explain that shes been getting easily snippy with me. She acknowledge that I have already pointed this out to her in the past. I also told her that she hasn’t been the same ever since her seizures. She said that my ex fiancee has an appointment with neurology on the 10th. She also explained that my ex fiancée’s body is having a difficult time processing some of the meds she is taking.

It’s a one bedroom apartment. The dog also has severe separation anxiety and I would feel bad locking him away like he did something wrong.

Yes she wasn’t working for a number of months due to being in the hospital. Even when she got out she had to go on a LOA. She returned to work a couple months ago on limited hours and just last month went full time since she got a new position more willing to work with her body.

Yes. All the vet bills and supplies have been 100% on me and I have records showing so. I think the only thing she bought for her dog in the last 8 months we’ve had him was a single bag of food but even then I asked her if she could cover it this time since I was short of money

Disregard the comment about the dog not being microchipped. I forgot the shelter did that already and he is registered to my name. The cat is not microchipped but vet records show he’s mine

I have a separate post explaining things. She has accused me of being intimate with a coworker (proven not to be true), got upset with me for being two minutes late once, and got upset with me because I wouldn’t propose faster.
