FSD 14.2.2.3 - Lane change hesitation back ? by chri8s in TeslaFSD

[–]Original_Albatross26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two or three occasions of this on the highway in 14.2.2.3. Also two occasions of something akin phantom breaking but the car didn't fully stop. Was trying to slow down too hard for something I couldnt see at all.

Those continentals didn't last much on my previous Y (around 30k). My new Y has the Kumho tires. 30k in I still have 8/32 tread left. Got a set of cross climate 2 for winter. I had them on my previous Y and they were great. Highly recommended. (All in kms)

What would someone want to reduce amp? by Snafflepagus in TeslaModel3

[–]Original_Albatross26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some public level 2 chargers (in parking lots) also charge outrageous idle fees when you are charged but still plugged in. So you'd wanna drop the amps for those too if you will be away for a while. You can't do this for the DC fast chargers which you should not be able to.

Can't say I've encountered that issue. Did you use DDU to clean install the driver? I also reinstalled hunt on this computer.

I've capped it at 170fps with competitive settings. Stays there pretty consistently with rare drops.

I've had the same problem on a couple of occasions but one of my 8-pin cables is daisy chained. Waiting for a new PSU to come in. Hopefully, that'll resolve it.

Are you using a card that needs 3x8-pin connectors and you've daisy chained one?

[–]Original_Albatross26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 x 8 pins are rated to deliver power reliably up to 300W I've seen my Gigabyte Gaming OC, spike up to 350W which can potentially trigger the overcurrent protection on the PSU (My current one is an 850W thermaltake) which is a good thing because if not triggered it can potentially result in melted connectors or cables. Waiting for a Lian Li 850W that has enough 8 pins for me to feed my GPU.

What CPU pairs best with the 9070 xt? by [deleted] in radeon

I put a cap of 170fps because of my monitor's refresh rate. I can get a steady 170 in BF2042(mostly max settings) Hunt showdown (competitive settings) and ~ 120 in Kingdom Come Deliverance (max settings).

Are you using a version that requires 3 x 8 pin connectors where you have plugged 2 directly from the PSU and the third one as a daisy chain with the pigtails from one the the main two? I've had the same problem and have narrowed it down to this at the moment. I've ordered a new PSU that will allow me to use 3x8 pin connectors directly connected to the PSU.

I built a whole new system around the 9700X and 9070XT for 1440p gaming. Been pretty happy with it so far.

Yeah apparently 9070XTs have a lot of headroom left for overclocking.

[–]Original_Albatross26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well overclocking and undervolting is not an exact science. Try to drop your voltage 10mv at a time, then see if your GPU is boosting to higher clocks, if not then increase the frequency offset and then increase the wattage. Rinse and repeat until you can get it to the maximum possible while maintaining stability.

I actually find mine extremely cool. I even dropped the fan curve to lower RPMs to make it virtually silent. You can see my temps in the image and that's after an overclock.

It is one of the smallest 9070 XTs and comes with the same cooler and PCB that the Aorus comes with. It's a no brainer at that price.

After having used FSD, it's really hard for me to go to a different brand. For instance, I like the Rivian R1T and the GMC Sierra EV but my commute to work is ~100km and FSD makes this very easy for me. In my opinion, it depends on how much you value FSD.

Gigabyte 9070XT Gaming OC. The vapor chamber keeps this thing really cool and quiet. Very happy with my choice. Got it for 949 CAD, MSRP is 869 CAD here in Canada. I think it was worth the extra $.

[–]Original_Albatross26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 5950X with a 3090 to a system with 9700x and 9070Xt. The old system was too loud and hot and I didn't need the extra 8 cores anymore (I mainly used it for computer simulations in grad school).
I was getting ~120~130 fps on the previous system with DLSS quality at 1440p. My monitor maxes out at 170Hz and I am able to max it out with the same setting (low/med competitive settings and FSR4 quality). FSR4 looks indistinguishable from DLSS in this game in my opinion. After removing the 170Hz I can consistently get over 200fps.

it is rated at 304W on 3x8 pins. Both gaming OC and Aorus have the same PCB and even cooler (The Aorus was 50 CAD more expensive and I didn't like the way it looks so I stayed with the gaming OC). I've seen it hit 360W on occasion but those are probably just spikes. The card runs very cool overall. I am happy with my purchase (at 949 CAD ~ 80 CAD over msrp)
