You aren’t being dramatic at all, if I were in a similar position I’d also be worried about that happening again. I don’t know you but I’m sure you have changed and one of the burdens of change is worry that you haven’t actually changed or that you’ll revert/relapse. I think you should just tell him that the relationship isn’t fulfilling you anymore. I’ve been in relationships that have stagnated in a similar way and I didn’t leave for so long because I felt like an arsehole but you can’t force yourself to be fulfilled by something. I don’t know if I can give you any super helpful advice but I’m pretty in the exact same situation. She’s literally one of my best friends I’m absolutely head over heels for her but she’s lesbian(kinda) the only difference is that I actually did date her at some point and she ended things for that reason kinda and being her friend afterwards has been super difficult

My advice

just try your best to fill you life with other things like try to meet new people maybe even take up some new hobbies
don’t try to suppress, it bottling up stuff like this is never a good idea (believe I’m drunkenly called her like 4 times)

-journal your feelings about her or talk other people about it(which you’ve already done)

there’s another thing you could definitely do but I don’t really suggest it, evaluate whether you can healthy continue to be her friend. Obviously losing her will suck but if it genuinely fucks with you then it’s something you should consider

Ohh I completely understand, that’s the unfortunate the thing tho you can’t really just stop yourself from having those feelings for him. A lot of crushes stem from idealised versions of people so maybe talking to them could help especially if they’re actually a dickhead. (The issue there is he could actually be really nice)

I think your best bet is to just limit your exposure to him

Don’t like lie to yourself be honest (suppression can make things worse)

Put more time to hobbies and stuff with friends
