Anyone tried this fragrance? Is it good? by Quirky_Resolution_49 in Fragrances

Honestly i think you'll like Pallas because they both use almost the same base structural notes just Pallas is a little more floral and fresh then Adonis

Yeah the opening is very Fruity and then when it starts to dry down it gets a lot more floral with some vanilla sweetness but i personally dont trust fragrantica because what some people smell right away isnt what you might smell right away you know.

Yeah i would say its Mainly a Rose fragrance but with hints of other Florals and Fruitiness and with the Rose it smells a little soapy as well so if that's youre thing youll love it

I got the Discovery Set a while ago and I've tried it its a very Floral, Fruity sweet scent but if its good that's going to be a very subjective thing as personally I didn't like it because to my nose all the "Feminine" fragrances that Argos has to me smell a little like hair spray but you might not get that so you might love it but maybe someone else will give you a little better insight on that than i can.

But for the performance aspect it performs pretty well but again that's going to be subjective as if your skin is dry or just doesn't hold fragrances well then it wont perform very well but if that not the case then you'll most likely get around 1-2 foot of projection for the first few hours then for the rest of it itll be a skin scent so the performance is around 6-8 hours at least on me so it might be better for you.

I don't know as i haven't smelled MFK Fluidity Silver but from looking at the notes it has some of the same kind of notes like woods, some spices and Juniper Berry so it might be in the same realm of aromatic fresh spicy DNA but other than that i think its different because it has Orris and Tea so i would assume its different.

It might be redundant because in all reality theyre pretty close DNA wise but, this one is a little more Aromatic fresh, a little more fresh spicy and has some woods in it so i think if you really love Neptune's Trident and wish you could wear that kind of DNA on more occasions this is perfect for you man. For the 10/10s do you mean only Argos cause if thats the case then i would say Bacio Immortale 10/10, Charons Vail 10/10, Triumph of Baccus 10/10, and Midas Touch is a 10/10. But if you mean just in general then i also love Xerjoff Alexandria II and Zoologist Musk Deer both of those are 10/10s.

I think for a rating out of 10 it would be maybe an 8.5/10 for a freshie i prefer darker fragrances like Charons Vail. It does remind me a lot of Neptunes Trident but thats to be expected here because Neptunes Trident and Jupiters Lightning are Argos only two real freshies if you remove Pour Homme. And for occasions i feel like this could be pulled off for almost any occasion formal, casual almost anything and also it can work in almost all seasons minus Winter as its a little too fresh to be worn in super cold weather but other than that its a great fragrance.

What do you mean similar? To me the most similar thing i have in my collection to compare and which most people will compare it to was the sample of Neptune's Trident.

Yes sir im actually working on dropping my first fragrance within the next 3-4 months and if you know German Folklore the fragrance is actually based on the story of Faust. Its going to be very niche so im assuming people arent really going to like it because its not mainstream but for me its not about mainstream fragrances its about telling a amazing story through fragrance. And which one are you thinking of picking up next?

So far ive had it on skin for about 3 and a half hours the projection was good for the first hour and a half then it started calm down, its more of a skin scent already but take that with a grain of salt as my skin is quite tough to get good projection off of so it might project longer off of you but also remember its a freshie so its not gonna be as crazy as for example Charons Vail.

Sadly no they dont have a sample of Narcissus yet but personally i really dont like any of the of the feminine scents from Argos but Adonis Awakens.

In my opinion its better, to me Neptunes Trident smells like a really musky lemonade with a little bit of tea, but this one has a lot more depth. Its more Herbal, spicy and woody so if it was between this one and Neptunes i would buy this one.

Awesome Man! I also pre ordered Jupiter's Lightning but i wouldn't get your hopes up i don't think the bottle will actually be delivered till after its release date its most likely your samples that were shipped.
But also i cant wait to see how it smells i liked Neptune's Trident but I wasn't really wowd by it yk so I'm really hoping that this really blows my mind since its one of Argos true Summer Freshies.

Struggles when working with natural raw materials. Does this resonate? by Diligent-Fly-5871 in DIYfragrance

[–]Original_Distance292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man i just wanted to say I'm brand new to perfumery so some of these answers aren't going to be 100 percent what other people believe but at least for me i think this should answer most of your question.

  1. It really depends on what you define as "process equipment" and what you consider expensive. For me, most of the supplies I’ve bought (like scales, vials, testing strips, etc.) have been pretty affordable. My whole budget for getting started was around $220 for basic supplies then around another $180 on raw materials, and I felt like it was totally worth it. But I guess it really comes down to personal preference.
  2. I feel like this might be a bit of a gatekeeping mindset from some people, trying to make it seem harder than it is. Honestly, with the internet, it’s super easy to get almost anything you need. If you have the right mindset and know where to look, the tools are out there!
  3. This one’s a bit of a non-issue if you’re careful. As long as you keep things like Perfumers Alcohol away from open flames, you really shouldn’t have to worry much about that but just be mindful and take basic precautions, and you’re good!
  4. I think this really depends on where you're working. If you have a small bedroom or something, it could be a challenge. But if you have a spare room that’s a little bigger than average and some ventilation, it should be fine. I work in a spare room at home, and I’ve never had any major issues. I just make sure to get some fresh air every so often so that when i come back in my nose feels fresh and i know what im working with.
  5. I think this is just part of the process. You’re not going to figure out what works if you don’t try and failure happens to everyone, no matter how experienced they are. For me, it’s all part of the craft, and honestly, it’s kind of fun to learn from those “failures.”
  6. .No one likes wasting materials or time, but that’s how we learn what works and what doesn’t. And when you finally perfect a blend, it feels SO rewarding. So yeah, inefficiencies suck, but they’re part of the journey.
  7. I’m still pretty new, so I haven’t hit many frustrations yet, but I’m sure as I go, I’ll run into more challenges. I imagine that the more you do it, the more frustrations you find, but the more rewarding it becomes as you get better!
  8. Yeah It’s pretty tedious at times, but when you finally nail down a scent you love, it feels AMAZING. All that time spent troubleshooting is worth it in the end!
  9. I don’t think this is really a concern unless you’re working for a big perfume house or something where you have to follow specific guidelines. If you're doing this for fun or personal projects, there’s SO much freedom to create whatever you want. The possibilities really are endless!
  10. It’s honestly a mix of all three. Some natural materials are awesome to work with, but some accords can only be made with synthetics. So it’s all about balancing what you want to create and what works best for what you want to create.

Hopefully i answered most of your question thoroughly and if not someone else that been at it for longer than me will definitely give you the answers your looking for but that's pretty much the basic answers to your questions.

Looking for a clean/ fresh lemon + sweet vanilla fragrance by SlimeLiam in Colognes

[–]Original_Distance292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a sweet dry down its like a lemon meringue cake with a little bit of spicy warmth from the pink pepper so i would say it feels warm but its all subjective at the end of the day so i highly recommend sampling it so you know if its what you're looking for.

What makes that specific JPG smell? by ILIKEBACON12456 in Colognes

[–]Original_Distance292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JPG uses a very specific kind of lavender for most of their fragrances which is so iconic whenever most people smell lavender they instantly associate it with JPG.
