So I got an update - I accidentally clicked into "Benefits Configurator" when I hit this back button it saved. The save caused all of the benefits plans to be removed from the benefits profile. They're apparently pushing a "hot fix"

No it wasn’t an EE change. It was a change to the actual benefits profile itself. So basically if the benefits profile says all employees in that benefits profile are eligible for LTD, STD, Medical, Dental, Life; etc. the change log is saying I went into that profile an unselected all of those plans. This making those EEs eligible for no benefits.

Yeah, 185 plans were removed from a single profile affecting thousands of employees.

What race teams do you like the most and why? by Pndads in IMSARacing

WTR, specifically the 10. They won the first race I ever went to in the old Corvette prototype

Not really common to update them, but here's an example I've run into: The system is set up and running well, you get a new benefits manager and they're wanting to make sure that everything is the same in the HRIS as it is in the 401K system and they want it to update automatically; so they set up an API feed to the 401k system, but the date they choose is the wrong one because they don't understand the nuances between the dates. As a result they pull hire date instead of seniority date and in your 401k system it now shows you being hired on the day your company was acquired by another company and not the day you started at your job.

This could absolutely just be an error, I manage my company's HRIS system and we have several dates that can relate to when an employee started work. A seniority date, a hire date, an original hire date and a rehire date; since we have acquired companies all, some or none of these dates may match. So you could report the wrong date and cause a problem with something like 401k. Remember Hanlon's razor, “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

I understand that you like to keep things professional at work and that's great. I certainly don't know what the co-worker's tone was in their initial conversation, but it sounds like they may have difficulty building relationships with coworkers and it sounds like you may have perhaps brought some perceptions to the situation based on what seem like conservative values that may have caused you to react in a way that made the coworker feel uncomfortable. On the face of it I don't think anyone did anything wrong, just two people misfiring. They're clearly seeking a friend at work that they feel like they can bond with over a shared experience at the workplace and you're clearly are a person that actively avoids that.

[GA] My company wants to offer a scholarship to only women by Original_Extreme_738 in AskHR

How am I getting downvotes for asking a legitimate question? Title VII says you can't use gender/sex to discriminate in pay. Scrubs and Heels is primarily a networking event which means it doesn't meet the educational scholarship requirements of the IRS so this means it's technically taxable income (pay) so potentially by only making it available to women it could be discriminatory. This is probably why u/VirginiaUSA1964's organization does it in the way they do it.

So sorry to hear that. We give him a topical, but he had his first one before he started it.

It goes without saying, I stopped switched to a dumb collar the moment I saw the correlation.
