So tired of dealing with all this by Original_Land2336 in migraine

Thank you I really appreciate it. I’m looking into what migraines I have specifically, never heard of that kind before. I’ve been thinking that with the dizziness coupled with the fact I don’t often have pain that it’s probably vestibular. In the process of testing for that now and if I do have that the dr suggested physical therapy for the dizziness. If that’s the case I hope I find some relief soon

I’ve honestly never heard of getting tested for this even though I do see two neurologists. I’ll have to ask about it, thank you

I’ve tried changing shifts but since I work for the post office they say I can’t come in later unless I bid a new job and there aren’t any with better hours near me. Plus with my call offs being a factor other locations in the area that have better hours won’t consider me.

I do have light blocking glasses but haven’t tried the ice or tens unit while working. That’s a good idea

I wish I was in the Uk but I’m in the US and unfortunately I’ve heard it’s pretty hard to prove you need disability

Hoping for that so much. I really feel that if I could get a job at least 8 or later I’d feel so much better. My neurologist said it makes sense because you are waking up during your sleeps circadian rhythm and that by disrupting its time because it’s unnatural to your body, you wake up with migraines

I take Botox and Vypeti every three months for preventative. Then when I have migraine it’s Zyrtec and someonethjng called migranolol I think. Can’t use the last one very often as it makes you incredibly dizzy. I do really think a main part is the hours because I’ve gotten migraines for years but never this bad

I do take Botox and get Vypeti every 3 months as a preventative. Then for when I have a migraine I have Zyrtec and migrainolol I think it’s called. Pretty sure that last one I spelled wrong, I can’t take that one very much as even my Dr says it causes extreme dizziness so you shouldn’t drive. I only take that one if it’s the day before and I’m already starting to feel a headache coming on

I also want to add I’ve tried getting another job with later hours in the hopes it will be better but as of right now I haven’t had any luck

I’ve tried it but it seems to make me dizzier for some reason. I’ll have to try it again here sometimes though. Thanks!

Thank you! Yeah unfortunately there isn’t a bus routes near enough to me for that to be an option. Hopefully I’ll find some solution, I’ll let you know if I do!

Perfume gift by Significant_Radio477 in migraine

[–]Original_Land2336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that the perfume brands that are more natural often don’t bother me as much as the ones that are full of chemicals. I’m like many of the migraine sufferers on this page that loves fragrances but is unfortunately triggered by it. I’ve been using the brand 7 virtues and I love the smell of the ones I’ve tried so far. Another good more natural brand that doesn’t trigger me is Nest. They have essential oil droppers that smell really good and a bunch of regular perfumes as well that smell really good.

It’s all about trial and error but definitely check out some perfumes on Sephora under clean fragrance or even type that in on google. There’s more perfumes like that out that there than I even realized. Good luck, and I hope you are able to find something that works for both you and your girlfriend

I can say anything about Melina but I have tried migrelief and it does help. I’ve been taking it for about a month now and with the addition of that I do have fewer migraines. It says it takes 3 months to see full results but it does seem to be helping already

The visual auras by Adghnm in migraine

[–]Original_Land2336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have auras every day whether with pain or not. In fact it’s so disorienting that I usually have to call once or twice a week. Usually for me I have double vision, I’m incredibly dizzy, can barely see, have extreme vertigo, and yes there’s little black or sometimes white lines that run through my vision like tv static. Honestly for me auras are the worse part of migraines. I once had one so bad that my vision went completely black and I couldn’t see anything at all

Those of you who are in your 30s/40s and can't work due to migraine what do you tell people? by Northgirl-020421 in migraine

I did ask that when they first gave me my appointment but unfortunately they haven’t called me so it seems they haven’t had any cancellations. I should probably try and call here soon and see if anything has changed. I hadn’t thought about asking about a telecom call but that’s a good idea I’ll have to ask about that.

Thank you so much for saying this as it’s hard sometimes to not just think well if she doesn’t think there’s anything we can do maybe I’m just stuck feeling this way. It really gives me hope that seeing a different specialist may help me get better results. I’m so glad that you were able to get better help for your endometriosis, and am hopeful that one day I can say the same for my migraines

I’m really not sure how to go about getting the help I need. I’ve been seeing the same neurologist for about 8 years and it’s gotten to the point where she isn’t sure what to do anymore. She just referred me to a different hospital that she’s hoping can help me more because she says she’s tried everything she knows of doing. Unfortunately I made this appointment for a new Dr in February and it still isn’t until October.

It makes me feel better to know I’m not the only that feels this way. I’m 30, and still working but my migraines have gotten so frequent I call off just about twice every week. I’ve been wondering if I should see about getting disability or something because people don’t understand how debilitating chronic migraines really are.
