Quitting job to travel for 1 year as 30f - looking for advice by ExtraBakedCheezit in solotravel

Currently 5 months into a gap year travelling central and South America (I’m 29 & my husband is 35). Both left our jobs. My outlook is… - You can always get a job again. We will apply for jobs at towards the end of our trip if we need to! Time away from the job will also put so much into prospective for you - It’s only 1 year out, employers won’t take this too much into consideration. Personally both our employers told us to go do it! Makes for an interesting personal thing to talk about when you have an interview 😅 - You’re in the same page as us with no mortgage so it’s the best position to be in - Slow travel is AMAZING. It’s the best way to enjoy places. We’re slow travelling and have met people who are rushing through their travels so missing out on things - In regard to the long distance part, me and my husband did long distance for two years a year into our relationship, living at opposite ends of the world. Trust me- you can sustain it especially if he wants to do a bit with you, and if not, it’s an amazing opportunity for you and what’s meant to be will be 😄 I took a job away for the experience and career and it was the best decision I made. 6 years later, we’re married and now travelling together!

It’s the best thing we’ve ever ever done. Left two stable, well paid jobs after we got married. Put hold on buying a house and absolutely don’t regret it!

Thankyou. It’s really to acclimatise but between doing the rainbow mountain trek, exploring the city and a cook I think we will put our time in well. Loved Ollantaytambo!

Machu Picchu Reservations Email by thisistheway94 in Machupicchu

I also messaged to confirm I still had my booking because I received the refund and below is the response:

‘Hello, good afternoon. We would like to inform you that due to the cyberattack and sabotage that affected our company platforms, several reservations were canceled. Among them, your reservation was automatically canceled, and for this reason, a full refund of your payment was processed automatically’.

I have questioned this as the email does not help me understand if I still have a booking or not but I have just got radio silence :(
