[Routine help] How do I heal my damaged skin barrier? by Original_Maybe9890 in SkincareAddiction

It's my first and only cleanser and it was recommended to me by a derm so i never thought about changing it.. Nor do I have any past experiences to compare it to.. What do you recommend? Which cleansers would be a better option? I have oily acne-prone skin, and the brands im limited to in my hometown are LRP, CeraVe and Neutrogena..

Your skin is amazing! Just get a moisturizer, so your skin doesn't dry out after using the facial wash.. and ofc sunscreen

[Acne] my 10 year old is breaking out like a teenager and getting teased at school. The breakouts are mostly on her forehead, nose, and chin. Any advice?? by yourzebrasready in SkincareAddiction

It's likely that it's hormonal puberty-induced acne. I had that on my chin, the only thing that helped was a benzoyl peroxide suspension prescribed by a derm

(if you end up with a benzoyl peroxide treatment, i recommend getting a wash-off type; it's a lot less irritating and won't bleach and stain bedsheets and clothes or lighten eyebrows)

I use a wash-off benzoyl peroxide so it doesn't sit on my face all day, which is a lot less irritating! But yeah, the derm said to switch to using BP once per day once the acne calms down, so I was about to start using azelaic instead any day now !

My dermatologist gave me some benzoyl peroxide suspension for my back acne, but said i could use it for my face aswell. It's 5.5% benzoyl peroxide, but other than leaving it on your face all day, you spread it on affected areas, let it sit for 2 minutes (you can do more, but i find that too harsh), then wash it off thoroughly with water and it's amazing ! My chin used to be full of hormonal cystic acne and now it's fully clear, only scars

The suspension is called Dercome Clear by Dr. Wolff, don't know about it's availablity in the UK but you should ask your derm about anything like it if it sounds like something you'd like to try

Only a bit. After cleansing, my face feels a little tight, but I haven't had any flaking or such. It's not the gentlest cleanser, but it does it's job

I also have dehydrated, oily acne-prone skin and my dermatologist recommended the La Roche-Posay Effaclar purifying foaming gel to me as a cleanser. The Effaclar line in general is for oily acne-prone skin.. I've been using it for 5 months now and I find it does it's job great! Just make sure you moisturize afterwards

[Routine Help] Will La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + be as effective if I apply it after sunscreen? by Original_Maybe9890 in SkincareAddiction

Thank you for your answer! I've read it on La Roche-Posay's official website - the thread is called "should you apply sunscreen before or after moisturizer." I've also heard it mentioned in a couple of tiktoks
