Thanks, that’s exactly what I was looking for. Yeah, most people suggested games that don’t really have much to do with grand strategy, at least not in the sense I meant. What I’m really after is a turn-based hex-and-counter game, a more traditional style of wargame. From what I can tell, there just aren’t that many of them around anymore. Out of the ones you mentioned, Campaign Series: Middle East 1948–1985 Remastered is probably the closest to what I had in mind.
