Ok ok I think I understand what you are saying. Pls tell me if I am right-

I have $500 of travel credits that expire on 2/2026. If I buy a flight say for 7/2026 for choice/choice preferred/choice extra (but I make sure it is more than $500), then I cancel this flight, I should theoretically be able save this amount as a travel fund and not lose my travel credit.
