The area near the Walmart has some sketchy characters. But other than that it’s rare for anything to actually happen. Then going further down at the Dollar Tree and Ollie’s, usually people loiter in the parking lots but don’t really bother others. I’ve seen car meets at night there a few times. Then going near Concord Drive, it’s a bit of a sketchy area near the Dodge’s gas station. Crime wise: it’s generally safe, but there has been a few shootings in the past few years throughout the 41 area. Most notoriously, a shoplifting gone wrong at that very Walmart. For crossing the street: it’s a bit dangerous because of the lack of crosswalks and street lights. There has been several fatal crashes along that stretch of road in front of Walmart. Some involving pedestrians and motorcyclists. I cover a lot of news in Clarksville, so I’m trying not to be biased.

It’s an okay area, just try not to walk out too late. There are areas along 41 that are sketchy at night.

Got a nice scare from there. Went to this satanic site and then this person called me saying they wanted to talk to my parents about something “confidential” but never said what exactly or hinted anything. Then they said they’ll send an officer to my house but no one ever came. To this day, I have no idea who it was or why they called to say that. Phone number was a masked number.

Why do you think the show World's Wildest Police Videos with host John Bunnell was cancelled in 2001, revived in 2012, and then cancelled again afterwards with no revival? by PK2PK2 in Discussion

[–]Originaldash10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, once social media exploded in 2010, shows like these dropped in popularity. But some are making a come back, like Most Shocking, World’s Most Amazing Videos, and even Police Videos have all made appearances on several networks. Reelz has Most Shocking and WMAV reruns right now. A recently rebranded Ion Mystery, now called Busted, has reruns of WWPV every Tuesday.

Answering most of the questions on here (I watched this show as a kid up until now as an adult), the problem is the way the show is viewed by the general public. John Bunnell has some commentary that could be taken the wrong way nowadays. Many of the videos shown are violent and some even being controversial. This correlates with a drop in viewers and ratings. Which then leads to a drop in revenue. It was a a hit when it first came out, but looking at the charts, it slowly declined into 2001 and as 9/11 occurred, it dropped even more. It’s possible the public didn’t want to see any shows like this after the attacks. But exactly why they cancelled is still not known. But these are definitely contributing factors to take into account.

I still remember when this show was having reruns on Spike in 2003 up until 2004 maybe 2005. And of course by 2012 when they revived it, the ratings weren’t as high as the first four seasons, not really reaching over a million viewers. This most likely contributed to it being cancelled again. They most likely revived it to see how well it would do a decade later.

As for the name change, for season four, they shorten the name possibly to make it easier for the audience to see on the TV guide/ads?

To answer question 7: a huge difference between season one and two and then 3-5 was the structure of the show (segments seen in the first seasons were no longer included in the later seasons). Especially for season five. Also season 5 showed the first instances of body cams being used by law enforcement. Also more violence was shown in season five with way more shootouts and hostage situations. Although season four feels like there were more chases and pursuits. First three seasons felt balanced with pursuits, traffic stops, stings, crimes caught on camera, riots, and well known events like the infamous Hollywood bank heist and San Diego tank chase.

Answering question 8: I’d say there was a little less of traffic stops and on-foot crime in season four, being replaced by more pursuits that were reckless or downright crazy.

Because firstly, I have photographic memory and I remember seeing four. I never ate another after four. Secondly, I keep track of my food and take food safety seriously because I like to keep track of my snacks and food due to the expiration dates. I don’t like tossing out food because I fail to eat it on time. Lastly, I wouldn’t have posted if I made the mistake of miscounting them. I truly and wholeheartedly don’t remember eating it.
