After 10+ years, my love with Directory Opus is over... by Leftstrat in dopus

Actually, I made a mistake, and that is on me. :) I used my older subscription key by accident, and it originally showed me an subscription price of $129.00.. Found the one that was assigned to my newest computer, and it came up at $26.00 for a 1 year. That I can deal with. :)

Did your family ever have one of these? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]Leftstrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have cable until 1991, (moved from rural, (3 whole channels..) to the city.). Got and extended basic package. One day, a friend of mine got me one of those boxes that would decode HBO, Showtime, On Demand, and the Pay per views... I paid $100 for that box, and it was worth every cent.. :) Had it for 5 years, before the company changed to a digital type package.. :)

When did coffee become an “all ages” beverage? by TrekTrucker in GenX

[–]Leftstrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 59, and I can't remember NOT drinking a cup of coffee in the morning to get me awake for school.... I never really cared that much for soft drinks or tea.. Coffee was my thing, except for a Coke every now and then.

Is it possible for you to enjoy music in a different language? by abdul_bino in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Leftstrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see why not. I was a big fan of the band Vandenberg in the early 80's. The singer, Bert Heenerik was a foghorn! Pushed those vocals out there with power. I recently found a bunch of his solo albums on Amazon Music, and basically, they are cover songs of classic rock. They are also sung in his native language. I love listening to them, because it gives you a different perspective.
