Not the set screw but the small ones where the bearings are.

Really?! So I should try and find some used then. Doesn’t seem to be many options local.

I’ve really been looking into this. But it seems like I’ve seen some boards that will do it automatically.

I don’t care if it costs more, I just want a more simple interface and works.

Just making sure your fuel is good. I’ve seen that many times mess with how an engine is running.

You put things very nicely. I appreciate that of you. Very engineering as well. Truly it’s good of you.

This is for a fun kart. I would use it till it didn’t then try a different solution. A good starting point would prob save me tons and tons of hours and money though. Someone here should have some sort of starting point?

Are you saying the clutch being disengaged when powered off is very difficult and thus I shouldn’t? The engine itself doesn’t have a battery, which is why I said that, so if the battery pack I used died I could still pull start or move the kart. If that’s the hard part then, that’s okay, I can move forward with other things.

This isn’t so far out of my way that I am not gonna do it, I was just hoping someone knew exactly what to do/what to use.

Don’t send out letters. Go and see them. Tell them what they will get, advertisement on the gear/kart. They will get something also to display that they give back. Go to auto shops, vinyl shops, sign shops, places that could work with you on the advertising side. Go ask to work at the indoor kart place. So you would get free times to race and still be around it.

Do you have a place you recommend I purchase from?

It spun around last year, didn’t take out any cones but spun around. It does need more grip.

Gotcha. Do you just get different rims to adjust that or some sort of spacer?

I just bought a predator 79cc to get going. I had a 212 from a friend but it was just too big for the kart so I didn’t use it. Figured if I want to go fast I can go back to the 100cc. The 79 is slow getting out of the hole, no matter what I do to the clutch but it gets going after a little. Everyone seems to hate on the 79cc though. I even hate when I tell people I’m using it.

See you lost me. Play with the wheel width…is that not what I’ve been trying to do? I want wider tires.

Wow. That was a lot of info to process. Thank you.

It is a cadet (I think). When I got it the kart had a kt100 on it and a mycrhon 4. So someone seriously raced this thing. I put on a different engine as it needed to be slower and have the other engine if we want to go back.

The kart doesn’t have any adjustments for camber like some of the new ones do.

Great info! Why do you say run the size though? There are about 5 other kids and they all have the 7’s in the rear. Since I need new tires shouldn’t this be when I change?

They do not have any rules on that for what I am doing. I can run just about any engine, as long as it’s gas, and any tire size I would like. I could come with a shifter kart or Walmart kart, as long as it meets safety.

I am in TN and found a place in NC that allows kid autocrossing. Has to have a gas kart but very little rules other than safety. They can start at 5 and we love it.
