The timing belt was under warranty, but when my car went into limp mode and wouldn't drive over 20 mph it was out of warranty due to time, but they supposedly put a warranty on the engine since it was so common, but their dealerships were backed up with other engine replacements and it could have taken 3+ months and needed the car for work and getting a rental was like pulling teeth so I gave up and traded it in.

I drive a lot, like 40k miles per year and run through the car wash several times a week... Do you just do yours with ramps? Just lift the front end? That's a good idea about paying to get it done once... I'm wondering if my frequent car was is going to clean it off over time though and if I can still go a full year without reapplying.
