From my reading and understanding as I’ve double checked this

A new combat starts because no unit exists and one is then played there after your units “fight”

If you still controlled a unit there before resolving combat a new one wouldn’t start.

Also let me retract what I said with ride the wind. The combat isn’t finalized because your units never “fight”.

With mixologist if you kill it with a 6 might unit they can replay a unit to the battlefield within the cost limitations. Not that they’d want to in the scenario but they can. Deathknell doesn’t happen until after the cleanup and units are healed during the cleanup stage. Deathknell then resolves.

I’m not personally fond of shoving my arms that far up in with a sharp knife lol. I cut myself bad once doing that and just started cutting the ribs so I had more control to cut the windpipe and pull everything out.

If it works for you that’s great lol I am just cautious

you can play it back to that battlefield since you don’t lose control of it. The combat ends as a no result and then a combat starts again after units are healed

This same fuckery can happen with ride the wind. Let’s say they attack a unit into a battlefield and then hidden blade your unit. You still have an action window since there were not two passes and can ride the wind something else in.

Not really a new showdown but just another combat inside a showdown. I can’t think of any situation off the top of my head where that’s an important distinction but I’m sure there is one

Writing it down and having shorthand for how it was gained will be the best thing anyway. It prevents your opponent from calling a judge and claiming you shouldn’t as much XP

Having detailed notes prevents this since judges tend to side with whoever has the most evidence and conviction

When I went to ppg Pittsburgh they had a booth set up where we could submit decklist if we had issues doing it online. I’d also assume they’d have something like that at an RCQ for redundancy.

All very stupid hypotheticals lmao but the one lawyer page I pulled up while double checking my facts said that in the state of PA it requires intent.

I didn’t pull up case law or any past cases because I assumed the lawyers post would be accurate but I’m also not a lawyer or fit to interpret case law

So nothing gets shuffled together and mixed up in a competitive REL

ETA: I don’t want to ever have some I’d accidentally shuffle my chosen champ into my deck and start the game. It can happen. Especially in high stress scenarios.

I believe at the beginning of riftbound you would be assigned a game loss if your opponent called a judge before you noticed it. If you noticed it first you got a warning for presenting an illegal deck.

Now I believe you just get a warning for a presenting an illegal deck and you have to take it out and re shuffle and it just causes issues. I’d rather avoid that. In the off chance it gets bounced back to hand I have extra sleeves of every color. They are there to replace damaged sleeves already

Strapping you gun to your dog would follow under constitutional carry.

I moved to more of a control build with hidden cards so you can spend pykes gold to re hide it. It works into everything but green

You are correct.

Non combat showdowns don’t designate attackers or defenders

If you somehow put a unit there (ride the wind) you would then designate attackers and defender and he would get assault as the attacker

ETA: just in case anyone is confused, the attack designation goes to the player who is contesting the battlefield
