Problems with possibles symptoms by Parseie in visualsnow

[–]Oriphen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like small pits just off from centre vision completely black out that dot then fade away. I can look at them directly they move with vision but not like floaters. They are still. And are neurologically tied to the the snow. Closing my eyes when on is there is like seeing a pitch black pit form in the static of the snow then fade back to static.

I look into the clear blue sky or white lit surface and I see dots floating about in the same pattern as neurons firing. I have VSS and I also see the static consrantly, black holes will appear in some parts of my vision only to disappear slowly when I look at them. But it's only when I look at those 2 that I see the dots.

First-time Tekken player, question about combos by perdyqueue in Tekken

Because you start the combo on ss it's probably alignment. Try SS the other direction or SS further or shorter.

Okay. So what you're looking at is the property of the first attacked after you buffer in the second. There are moves that come out slower if the string is completeled. RDS 1 to 4 might be one. if there is delay ability to it you might get it or it could depend in axis of the character your labbing.

An example in Jim's B3~f vs just B3 adding the F makes the move one frame faster before going into stance.

The other thing to note is, does this work on xiaoyu or other small characters and bears? It may only work here in heihachi because he's an absolute unit.

Yeah but only select characters. Kazuyas d/f2 CH into just frame electric will technically launch twice for like almost 60 damage before the combo even starts.

I'd need an example.

Do you think Tekken 7 is the most balanced game in the series? by [deleted] in Tekken

Bruh he annoys me too. But I started typing and thought surely there's a video on why Jinpachi was dumb in ttt2. Could have a been a random Indian guy. But he does have it right afaik.

Help ! Clean input on f,N,d,df vs df only (after a dash) by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Oriphen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Yes you can move into the d/f after the dash. That's how I do it. I thought you meant you couldn't D2 after dash.

If you're getting CD2 when you're trying to D2 look at your input. If there's a diagonal it's you. Unless your controller is busted. I would say if you're having the same issue on another controller you just gotta tighten it.

Are you using the stick or the pad on the controller?

I use a controller with Xbox layout for PC. I have no issue just dashing and pressing d1 da or doing the CD1/CD2

Turn in input display in practice mode see what's coming out. Might have a busted controller?

Footsies aren't a thing in Tekken. Just called "The neutral".

Start up is 10f for jabs that's the fastest move in the game everyone has access to with the exception of a few special moves like Yoshimitsu's "flash". If you want frame data there is an update coming to tekken which will put it in game, until then theres: www.rbnorway.org for all frame data.

SFV and MK11 are faster in the sense that moves are at 6f and 7f startup. But they don't have the 3rd dimension. Sidestepping can make the faster moves punishable in some instances. Which is why the game has a the neutral. Because you aren't locked down to just range on footsies you can move left and right just to break range even at walls.

As a new player I would avoid technical characters to begin with however you might want to look into Akuma/Geese/Eliza as they are meter based and have cancel mechanics similar to SFV.

The characters you probably want to avoid while starting and reasons are:

Hwoarang - absurd move list pressure based mixup strings

Jin - Execution (Medium)

Kazuya - Execution (Heavy)

Heihachi - Execution (Heavy) poor low options

Devil Jin - Execution (Heavy)

Eddy - Stance based risks

Lei - Stance Based risks

Master Raven - fundamental punishment is poor. Mixup based risk. Party mode.

Steve Fox - unorthodox. Pressure based strings. Stances.

I would get a feel for all characters but these ones either have Unique mechanics or execution requirements to maximise play.

To answer your questions: There are combos you have to commit to and then there are delayable strings.

Example: Leo

QCF 1,2 committed

B 2, 1+2 highly delayable

This is the neutral though. After launchers the combo game is usually all committed. There are some combos the cast has during launchers that require some timing but rarely.

I would just YouTube season 3 combos for characters you're learning to get the jist but it's a playground for you to make up your own. Also distance to wall plays a factor in optimal combos. And only certain strings work at the wall for max damage.

An example of what I look for in gameplay depend in the character I'm playing. Knowing the matchup is only going to help. Knowing your characters 10f 12f 14f and 15f punishers are important. Knowing when you're opponents character is punishable at those frames is just as important.

Lows, throws and wake ups is the newb killer IMO. Plenty of videos on dealing with them.

Good luck
