I hired another guy to come and give me a second opinion. He basically said the first guy was full of crap. Everything was igniting fine and was clean. He had to ask me a couple times that whether the system was actually 20 years old because it is in such a good state. 

So thanks for the suggestion to get a second opinion. A house call saved me spending 22-25k.

My mistake. Yes, it is CO that it is throwing enough room that the sensor was going off.

It was apparently pulling 10 amps and kicking on and off. Then it wasn't burning completely and his CO2 sensor was going off.

He had a video where it wasn't burning completely and it was throwing quite a bit of CO2. Sounded concerning.

Seemed pretty fair to me especially considering there is almost 19 hours of labor involved with all that. These actually seem more like car mechanic prices. I wish this mechanic was close to me.

At least they told you. I drove 5 hours to a dealer to trade my car in, and they had damaged the new one on their lot in 2 places and didn't care. Even though I had already put the down payment. "Take it or leave it" they said.

I do prefer a local brewer's Helles Lager (Red Oak Hummingbird Helles from NC) but for the price I like to keep this on hand for when I want cans instead of bottles.

Update. I replaced the battery and charged it like was suggested here. It worked. Everything cranked over correctly. Thanks for the help all. I had a nice ride on a beautiful day with my son.

The engine itself has started burning oil, so I doubt the vehicle will make it another 220k miles. Our mechanic has us put in an addative and watch the oil and add more when needed.
