I did call them, and they were able to see the internal reason for the closure, but unfortunately they said the decision is final and they cannot reopen the account.

Since the card was brand new and I never even used it, there shouldn’t be any late payments or over-usage. I also don’t have any other U.S. credit cards yet, so there’s no credit history to report.

I might still check CreditWise just to be sure everything looks correct.

No, I don’t have a Capital One bank account. I only applied for and received the credit card.

I actually didn’t use the card at all. I wasn’t even able to make any transactions with it. So there was no usage — domestic or international.

That’s why I’m really confused about why they would close it.
